Position: Subject Matter Expert – Medicine & Biostatistics Chart Analysis

Type: Contractor

Compensation: $25–$50/hour

Location: Remote

About the Opportunity micro1 is seeking Subject Matter Experts in Medicine and Biostatistics Chart Analysis to contribute advanced clinical and quantitative expertise to an AI training project. In this role, you will interpret complex medical and biostatistical visualizations, develop rigorous analytical tasks, and provide precise, verifiable reasoning that helps train and evaluate next-generation AI systems. Prior AI experience is not required—your domain expertise and analytical judgment are the key qualifications.

Responsibilities

- Interpret complex medical and biostatistical visualizations, including Kaplan-Meier curves, forest plots, ROC curves, hazard-ratio plots, and related clinical or epidemiological charts.
- Develop clear, objective, multi-step quantitative questions based on complex visual and statistical data.
- Create analytical tasks that require graphical interpretation, calculations, comparisons, trend analysis, interpolation, and statistical reasoning.
- Provide precise answers with detailed, step-by-step explanations covering calculations, statistical inferences, and relevant clinical reasoning.
- Apply medical and biostatistical terminology accurately, including units, scales, confidence intervals, p-values, legends, and statistical annotations.
- Ensure all questions and tasks are unambiguous, objectively answerable, and free from subjective or unsupported interpretations.




- Produce verifiable reasoning assignments that can be used for AI model training and evaluation.
- Collaborate reliably with project teams through written and verbal communication while incorporating feedback and maintaining consistent quality.
- Review deliverables for accuracy, clarity, domain-specific terminology, and alignment with project requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Professional, academic, or research experience working with medical, clinical, epidemiological, or biostatistical data.
- Strong ability to accurately interpret complex medical and statistical charts and visualizations.
- Demonstrated expertise in multi-step quantitative reasoning and analytical problem-solving.
- Ability to construct precise, objective, and unambiguous analytical questions.
- Strong understanding of medical and biostatistical terminology, statistical annotations, units, scales, and graphical conventions.
- Ability to communicate analytical and clinical reasoning clearly in written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inaccuracies or ambiguities in quantitative and domain-specific content.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s, Master’s,



or Doctoral degree, including MD, MPH, PhD, or an equivalent qualification in Medicine, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or a closely related clinical or quantitative field.
- 2+ years of professional, academic, or research experience interpreting clinical trial data, survival analyses, or epidemiological visualizations.
- Advanced experience interpreting Kaplan-Meier curves, forest plots, ROC curves, hazard-ratio plots, and similar medical visualizations.
- Strong ability to interpret axes, legends, units, scales, confidence intervals, p-values, and statistical annotations.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and ideally a second language relevant to medical or research practice.
- Experience with technical documentation, scientific publishing, assessment development, structured data annotation, or analytical task creation.
- Experience creating benchmark questions, technical reports, or data annotation tasks for medical, clinical research, or AI-focused projects.
