MECHANICAL SITE SUPERVISOR / COMMISSIONING & SERVICE SPECIALIST

At Takachar, the Mechanical Site Supervisor would be expected to lead on-site mechanical commissioning and after-sales service for our clean energy equipment (screw conveyors, reactors, and related systems) supervising a compact two-person field team (comprising an Electrical Technician and this role) through installation, commissioning, and field support at customer sites.

Key responsibilities:

Site Deployment & Commissioning (70%)

- Lead end-to-end on-site commissioning of mechanical systems (screw conveyors, reactors, thermal dryer and auxiliary equipment) at customer/project sites, working in close coordination with the Electrical Technician.
- Supervise and coordinate the two-person on-site team (self plus one Electrical Technician) planning daily site activities, safety, and logistics to keep commissioning on schedule.
- Drive field operations end-to-end, including installation checks, mechanical alignment, load testing, and commissioning sign-off, while managing on-ground site dynamics and client expectations.
- Interface directly with client teams on site, providing clear, machine-level explanations of equipment operation and addressing queries even where formal management-level reporting is not required.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues that arise during commissioning and resolve them hands-on, escalating to the core engineering team only when specialist input is required.

After-Sales Service & Field Maintenance (30%)

- Provide after-sales service, field maintenance, and troubleshooting support at the manufacturing site (Delhi NCR) or client sites, as required.




- Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults during routine maintenance visits and emergency service calls, minimizing equipment downtime for customers.
- Maintain service records, spare-parts usage, and maintenance logs for equipment deployed at each site.

Desirable skills and experience

- Solid, hands-on understanding of mechanical systems and machine operation (screw conveyors, reactors, and similar heavy equipment); practical, on-the-tools experience is essential, not just theoretical knowledge, Mechanical assembly and Basic Electrical system hands-on knowledge.
- Field and after-sales service experience, including hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting; prior exposure to pyrolysis and thermal systems is a plus, but candidates with strong mechanical fundamentals can be trained (a one-month training period at the R&D; site is mandatory before independent deployment).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, specifically English language skills, to manage on-site operations, interface with clients, and coordinate with cross-functional teams — at minimum, the ability to clearly convey machine-level information even without formal team-management experience.
- GD& stack tolerances, detailed level manufacturing drawing knowledge.
- Field intelligence: ability to pick up key technical insights from customer sites and relay structured, surface-level feedback that the core engineering team can act on.




- Diploma/ BTech in (Mechanical/ Production/ Manufacturing/Thermal Engineering)
- Minimum 8-12 years of hands-on experience in site deployment and commissioning of mechanical or electromechanical systems; ITI/Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands-on background preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively to client and project sites across India, and to complete a mandatory one-month training period at the R&D; site prior to independent site deployment.
- Working proficiency in English and any regional language for effective on-site coordination with clients and cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable leading and mentoring a small in office team (mechanical and electrical technician) while gathering key technical insights from customer sites and relaying structured, surface-level feedback to the core engineering team.
