Responsibilities
1. Design mechanical components, structures, and product functions.
2. Select suitable materials and develop localized suppliers for mechanical components.
3. Perform component reliability evaluation and functional verification.
4. Analyze product issues and provide appropriate corrective actions.
5. Analyze production issues and support problem resolution.
6. Estimate the cost of newly designed mechanical parts.
7. Design mechanical structures based on tooling and molding constraints, and work with suppliers to resolve engineering issues.
8. Review and confirm machining technologies, manufacturing processes, and feasibility.
9. Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and dimensional design.
10. Analyze customer-returned products and provide appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
11. Conduct reliability validation tests according to project and product development requirements.
12. Prepare BOMs, production specifications, technical documents, and product user manuals.
Requirements
1. At least 3 years of experience in mechanical product development, preferably in drives, inverters, VFDs, or other industrial electronic products.
2. Capable of independently handling mechanical design, product issue analysis, and engineering problem solving.
3.
Valuable communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
Basic Knowledge & Skills
1. Basic knowledge of metal and non-metal material processing.
2. Knowledge of metal forming and plastic forming processes.
3. Mechanical design experience for molded parts.
4. Knowledge of mechanical design principles and tolerance design.
5. Ability to perform mechanical problem analysis and root cause investigation.
6. Understanding of manufacturing processes and basic cost estimation.
7. Familiarity with tolerance stack-up analysis.
8. Proficiency in engineering drawing and 3D CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Creo
9. Basic understanding of machining, plastic injection molding, sheet metal, die casting, and related manufacturing processes.
Nice to Have
1. Basic knowledge of thermal design and thermal analysis.
2. Experience in complete product development from concept, design, verification, and validation through mass production.
3. Experience with PLM and SAP systems.
4. Experience in reliability testing, product validation, and failure analysis.
5. Experience working with local suppliers and supporting supplier development.
