About the Job

Infinita Lab is a material testing solutions provider that helps engineers, researchers, and product development teams validate materials, components, and technical decisions through a global network of specialized testing laboratories.

We support clients across aerospace, semiconductor, advanced materials, polymers, chemicals, energy, sustainability, manufacturing, and medical device industries by simplifying access to testing expertise through a single point of contact.

We are looking for a Materials Application Engineer – Data & Experiment Planning with strong materials fundamentals and exposure to computational, statistical, or data-driven methods.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of materials science, technical requirements, experimental data, experiment planning, modelling, analysis, and optimization. You will help translate open-ended engineering and R&D; problems into structured technical workflows and practical testing approaches.

Initially, you will work closely with the team to understand client requirements, materials testing workflows, laboratory processes, and how technical projects are evaluated and executed. As you gain this understanding, you will apply computational and data-driven approaches to support materials-related problem-solving, experiment planning, modeling, and optimization.

In this role, you will:

- Understand customer goals, material requirements, constraints, available samples, timelines, and the technical decision they are trying to make

- Work with materials data, experimental results, and technical requirements to develop structured experiment plans and analysis
- Apply statistical and computational methods such as regression, model validation, optimization, and other appropriate data-driven approaches
- Support modeling and optimization of material variables, formulations, processes, or other technical parameters
- Support the development of repeatable technical workflows, digital tools, and templates for materials-related applications
- Work closely with engineers, scientists, researchers, laboratory partners, and internal teams to develop practical technical solutions

What makes this role unique?

- Work at the intersection of materials science, computational methods, data, and real-world experiments
- Chance to work on open-ended materials and engineering problems across multiple industries
- Exposure to experiment planning, optimization, modeling, and data-driven decision-making
- Opportunity to contribute to internal digital workflows and technical tools
- Direct exposure to engineers, scientists, researchers, and R&D; teams
- Opportunity to build expertise across materials applications, computational thinking, and technical problem-solving

If you're interested in using materials science and computational thinking to solve practical engineering and R&D; problems, we'd love to hear from you.
