Role Description:

The Manager – Purchase & Procurement will be responsible for end-to-end procurement activities for Golden Coir Tufts’ manufacturing operations. The role will manage sourcing, supplier development, commercial negotiations, purchase planning and timely availability of raw materials, packaging materials, chemicals, consumables, engineering spares and other production requirements.

The position will work closely with Production, Planning, Stores, Quality, Accounts and Management to ensure uninterrupted material availability while maintaining optimum inventory levels and procurement costs.

Key responsibilities include supplier identification and evaluation, RFQ comparison, price and payment-term negotiation, purchase order management, delivery follow-up, alternate vendor development, supplier performance monitoring and cost-reduction initiatives.

The role will also monitor material requirements against production plans,



lead times and inventory levels; address supplier quality or delivery issues; maintain approved vendor records; and ensure purchasing activities are accurately recorded through the company’s ERP system.

The Manager will be expected to continuously identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, alternate sourcing, improved payment terms, reduced lead times and better procurement controls.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of procurement/purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid experience in vendor development, RFQ comparison, commercial negotiation and supplier performance management.
- Experience procuring raw materials, chemicals, polymers/rubber/PVC-related materials, packaging, consumables or engineering spares is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of MRP/material planning, stock levels, reorder planning and production-driven procurement.
- Proven ability to negotiate pricing, credit/payment terms, MOQ, lead times and supply contracts.
- Experience working with ERP-based purchasing, PO, GRN and inventory workflows.
- Strong Excel/data-analysis capability for purchase-price analysis, consumption trends and cost-saving analysis.
- Experience handling supplier quality issues, shortages and urgent production requirements.
- Experience in an export-oriented manufacturing company is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Tamil communication capability would be useful for local supplier coordination.
