About Us:
TRYST is the Translational Research vertical of IIT Bombay, TRYST offers the substance of mission-driven work, the intellectual environment of IIT Bombay, and the pace and agency of an early-stage institution.
Job Purpose:
The Manager OPM works within TRYST's Program Management Office to plan, coordinate, and deliver assigned organizational initiatives, operating with a significant degree of independence within a scope defined by the Head – Program Management.
This role is responsible for taking ownership of a defined workstream such as a specific component of an institutional integration and working directly with relevant functional stakeholders to resolve day-to-day issues and maintain progress toward completion.
Key Responsibilities
Program Execution
- Independently own and drive one or more assigned organizational workstreams within OPM's broader mandate, reporting progress and issues to the Head – Program Management.
- Plan and sequence the activities required to deliver an assigned workstream, identifying dependencies and stakeholders without requiring constant direction.
- Work directly with relevant functional stakeholders (HR, Finance, IT, and others) to resolve day-to-day issues within the assigned workstream, escalating to the Head – Program Management only matters that require their involvement.
Maintain accurate, current tracking of the assigned workstream's status, open items, and risks. PMO Systems & Reporting
- Use and help maintain the PMO systems, project-tracking tools,
and dashboards established by the Head – Program Management.
Prepare status updates and reporting inputs on assigned workstreams for the Head – Program Management and other stakeholders as required. Policy & process Support
Support the drafting, review, and roll-out of TRYST policies relevant to assigned initiatives, working with the functional head who owns the policy's content.
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree any field. MBA or a relevant postgraduate qualification. A technical or scientific background is advantageous but not required.
- 6–10 years of overall experience, including meaningful experience in program or project management, operations, or a similar execution-focused role, ideally in a fast-paced or matrixed environment.
- A demonstrated ability to independently plan and deliver a defined body of work involving multiple stakeholders.
Comfort working with cross-functional teams without formal authority over them.
Skills :
- Ability to operate with a good degree of independence on an assigned scope of work, while recognizing when to seek direction from the Head – Program Management.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals outside their reporting line.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity within a still-forming organization.
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through.
- Explicit written and verbal communication.
A detail-oriented, structured approach to execution.
