Paperpal is an AI-powered writing and research assistant built for researchers, academics and students. As AI changes how people discover and evaluate products, we’re looking for someone to help Paperpal win across both traditional search and AI-powered search.

This is a high-ownership role. You will be responsible for driving Paperpal’s organic growth strategy, working independently with Content, Product and Engineering teams to turn opportunities into measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

- Own Organic & AI Search growth: Build and execute Paperpal’s organic search strategy across Google, Bing and emerging AI search experiences. Identify the biggest opportunities, prioritise them and drive the roadmap with minimal supervision.
- Build Paperpal’s visibility in AI search: Develop and execute GEO/AEO strategies to improve Paperpal’s visibility, citations and recommendations across LLMs, AI Overviews and other AI-powered discovery platforms. Experiment, measure and continuously refine what works.
- Drive SEO and content performance: Lead keyword and search-intent research, content optimisation and landing-page strategy across Paperpal’s key audiences and use cases. Identify content gaps and opportunities that can drive qualified traffic, sign-ups and product adoption.
- Own technical SEO: Partner with Product and Engineering on crawlability, indexing, site architecture, internal linking, page performance, structured data and other technical foundations required for sustainable organic growth.
- Drive experimentation: Develop and run experiments across traditional SEO and emerging AI search surfaces to identify what improves visibility, qualified traffic and conversions. Use data and learnings to continuously refine and scale the organic growth strategy.
- Monitor competitors and search trends: Track competitor strategies, search trends,



SERP changes and emerging AI search behaviour to identify current opportunities, threats and areas where Paperpal can gain an edge.
- Measure and optimise for business impact: Own Organic & AI search performance and connect rankings, citations and traffic to meaningful outcomes such as sign-ups, activations and subscriptions. Use analytics and SEO tools to identify trends, diagnose issues and make clear investment recommendations.
- Work cross-functionally and get things done: Collaborate with Content, Product, Engineering, Marketing and external partners to execute the roadmap. Be comfortable taking an ambiguous problem, figuring out the right approach and driving it through to completion.

This is an individual contributor (IC) role that requires a high degree of ownership, independence and bias for action.

Qualifications and Prerequisites

- 6+ years of hands-on SEO / organic growth experience, ideally in SaaS, consumer internet or product-led businesses, with a track record of delivering measurable growth.
- Hands-on understanding of AI search, GEO, AEO and LLM optimisation, with a willingness to experiment and learn as the space evolves.
- Strong expertise across technical SEO, content, on-page/off-page optimisation and search intent.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Google Search Console, Google Analytics and SEO tools.
- Experience partnering with Product, Engineering and Content teams to turn search opportunities into actionable initiatives.
- Experience with international SEO / multiple markets is a plus.
- High ownership and bias for action with ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, prioritise effectively and drive initiatives through to results.

For this role, there will be an assignment, 2 round of interview followed by HRBP round.
