Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Index Operations team as Manager / Deputy Manager. The role involves end-to-end ownership of index operations activities, including daily index maintenance, corporate action implementation, index reviews and rebalancing, operational risk management, quality assurance, and stakeholder coordination.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of equity and fixed income markets, index methodologies, corporate actions, and capital market operations. The role requires the ability to manage critical production processes, drive operational excellence, support technology initiatives, and contribute to the scaling and automation of index operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesIndex Maintenance & Calculation· Ensure accurate and timely execution of daily index maintenance activities across all assigned indices.

· Monitor index calculation processes and validate Price Return, Total Return, and customized index outputs.

· Ensure timely dissemination of index levels, constituent reports, and client deliverables.

· Investigate and resolve operational exceptions, data discrepancies, and production issues within defined timelines.

· Monitor operational controls and recommend enhancements to strengthen process governance.

Corporate Actions & Adjustments· Track and evaluate corporate action announcements, including bonus issues, stock splits, rights issues,

mergers, demergers, special dividends, and other market events.

· Determine and implement appropriate index adjustments in accordance with index methodologies.

· Validate corporate action processing and maintain accuracy across all impacted indices.

· Coordinate with data vendors, product teams, and technology teams to ensure timely and accurate implementation.

· Participate in methodology interpretation and impact assessment of complex corporate actions.





Index Reconstitution & Rebalancing· Execute periodic index reviews, reconstitutions, and rebalancing activities across equity and fixed income indices.

· Validate index compositions, constituent changes, share updates, and calculation outputs prior to implementation.

· Prepare and review client communication files, consultation outputs, and index review reports.

· Support new index launches, custom index implementation, and methodology enhancements.

Data Management & Quality Control· Perform data validations, reconciliation checks, and operational quality reviews.

· Establish and enhance controls to mitigate operational and data risks.

· Identify root causes of operational incidents and drive corrective and preventive actions.

· Maintain high standards of data integrity across index calculation and dissemination processes.

· Support audits, regulatory requirements, and governance reviews as required.

Stakeholder & Client Support· Collaborate with Product, Technology, Market Data Vendors, and Client Service teams to ensure smooth operational delivery.

· Support client queries, data requests, and operational investigations.

· Act as a key point of contact during index launches, rebalancing events, and production incidents.

· Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate operational efficiency.

Process Improvement & Automation· Identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, and operational scalability.





· Participate in system enhancements, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production rollouts.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives across index operations processes.

· Maintain process documentation, SOPs, operational runbooks, and control frameworks.

· Mentor and support junior team members where applicable.

Experience4–8 years of experience in:

o Index Operations / Index Services o Capital Markets Operations o Asset Management Operations o Mutual Fund Operations o Market Data Operations o ETF / Passive Investment Operations

Domain KnowledgeStrong understanding of

o Equity and Fixed Income Markets o Index construction methodologies and maintenance processes o Corporate actions and index adjustment methodologies o Index rebalancing and reconstitution processes o Market data management and validation frameworks o Passive investment products including ETFs and Index Funds

Technical Skills· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (mandatory)

· Experience handling large datasets and performing data validations

· Exposure to VBA / Macros strongly preferred

· Knowledge of SQL and/or Python will be an added advantage

· Familiarity with data feeds, file processing, and automation workflows is desirable

Qualifications· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

· MBA, CFA, FRM, CA, or equivalent professional qualification will be an added advantage.
