About the Role
We are looking for a Manager – Credit Risk to lead credit risk, underwriting and risk consulting engagements. The role will combine hands-on credit expertise, client management, solution development and team leadership. The ideal candidate should have strong financial analysis and commercial credit underwriting expertise, sound credit judgment, excellent client communication skills, and the ability to translate client requirements into practical processes and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of credit risk, underwriting and risk consulting engagements, ensuring quality, timelines and client requirements are met.
- Perform and review financial and credit analysis, including financial statements, ratio analysis, cash flows, liquidity, leverage, profitability, working capital, AR/AP aging and other key credit indicators.
- Monitor credit portfolios and risk trends, identifying emerging risks, changes in financial performance and other indicators requiring attention, and communicate relevant insights to clients.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative credit assessment, including business model, industry, customer concentration, debt obligations, contracts and supporting documentation, to identify key risks and form a credit view.
- Own client communication and requirement gathering, translating business needs into underwriting frameworks, processes, SOPs and practical risk/technology solutions.
- Manage and develop internal team, including work allocation, quality review, coaching and capability building.
- Drive process improvement,
standardization, automation and risk-monitoring initiatives, and proactively communicate key risks, trends and recommendations to clients.
What we are looking for
- 5 years of experience in commercial credit risk, financial analysis or risk consulting, preferably within banking, lending, fintech or financial services;
experience with US, Canada or LATAM markets preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, credit appraisal, ratio analysis, cash-flow and working-capital assessment, with sound credit judgment.
- Solid credit judgment and attention to detail, including ability to identify financial, operational and qualitative risks from multiple information sources.
- Excellent client-facing, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand ambiguous requirements and develop practical solutions.
- Experience managing/reviewing junior team members and taking ownership of project delivery.
- Experience with process design, SOP development, automation or analytics initiatives.
- Should have strong understanding of Advanced MS Excel and financial analysis/modeling skills.
- Exposure to credit underwriting, financial spreading, banking/transaction data or risk analytics platforms is an advantage.
Educational Qualifications
- CA / CA Inter / Semi-qualified CA preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
- Equivalent qualifications with relevant credit risk/underwriting experience may also be considered.
