WHAT TO EXPECT

Following a decade of pioneering in-house development, our Reimagine strategy is scaling this expertise across our next generation of electric and hybrid vehicles. We are now seeking an impactful Group Leader for BMS Software team. In this pivotal role, you will lead a talented team of 20+ engineers, transforming our local hub into a premier powerhouse within JLR’s global development network.

You are a visionary BMS software expert and dedicated mentor who pairs automotive technical mastery with clear, global communication to drive customer-focused, unified, and impactful results.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

- Lead a team to deliver control system design, requirements, models & test cases for certain Battery Management functions within Energy Platform Controls.
- Own clarity, completeness, traceability of L4 requirements, and alignment with system and programme intent.
- Ensure software implementation is delivered in line with JLR software quality processes.
- Own verification strategy, ensuring requirements coverage, traceability and test execution evidence.
- Drive robust issue resolution, employing complex problem solving techniques where appropriate.
- Ensure the team plan effectively & manage delivery to meet programme deadlines. Align on dependencies & activity plans with other teams as required to achieve feature / function integration.
- Monitor programme delivery KPIs on a weekly basis.
- Technically Accountable Person for your group of functions.




- Provide technical leadership and guidance. Identify, declare & manage technical & delivery risks, escalating where appropriate.
- Develop your team, using Creators’ Conversations to understand & enable appropriate growth opportunities for individuals.
- Identify skills / resource gaps & recommend resolution actions to your senior manager.
- Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

- Expert authority in BMS application software, state estimation algorithms and cell balancing strategies for high-integrity BEV/xHEV architectures.
- Deep mastery of model-based design (MBD) using MATLAB/Simulink and auto-code generation for high-safety electrification platforms.
- Hands-on proficiency in ASPICE-compliant V-cycle software development and ISO 26262 functional safety implementation (up to ASIL D).
- Strong technical background in software calibration, diagnostics, and testing using CANape, INCA, Git, Python, and C/C++.
- Proven track record in technical program management,



leading engineering teams through the full lifecycle of complex software and calibration deliveries under pressure.
- Rigorous, structured problem-solving approach to resolve complex technical challenges while driving continuous process improvement.
- Experienced in building, managing, and aligning cross-functional internal and external relationships across complex global stakeholder environments.
- Proven ability to report project status robustly, manage dependencies, and ensure strict adherence to quality standards and schedule milestones.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree Engineering with 14+ yrs of industry hands-on experience in automotive software delivery especially BMS SW.
