Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe z/OS Systems Administrator with 8+ years of hands-on experience managing, supporting, installing, and maintaining IBM z/OS environments. The candidate should have strong expertise in z/OS system software, SMP/E, Sysplex, USS, system configuration, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support IBM z/OS systems in enterprise production environments.
- Install, customize, test, implement, document, and support ISV and third-party software products .
- Use IBM SMP/E to receive, install, maintain, and apply z/OS and related software.
- Analyze SMP/E output and installation errors and work with vendors to resolve software issues.
- Configure and maintain z/OS, z/OSMF, JES2/JES3, TSO, RACF, REXX, Sysplex, and CFRM policies .
- Work with IOCP/HCD for system and hardware configuration activities.
- Create, update, and troubleshoot PARMLIB parameters and system configurations.
- Manage z/OS UNIX System Services (USS) , including file systems, mount points, security, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Support and troubleshoot z/OS communication technologies including VTAM, TCP/IP, and FTP .
- Plan and execute mainframe software and hardware installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities .
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for system configurations, installations, upgrades, and operational procedures.
- Provide production and off-hours/on-call support ,



including periodic weekend implementations and 24/7/365 coverage as required.
- Coordinate with IBM, ISV vendors, infrastructure teams, and internal stakeholders for incident resolution and software implementation.
- Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to junior team members.
- Work independently on complex technical issues while coordinating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Candidate Profile
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe z/OS Systems Administration .
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with software vendors and resolving installation/product issues.
- Robust documentation and technical communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.
- Willingness to provide off-hours, on-call, and weekend implementation support .
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance.
