Mainframe Storage admin

- Extremely familiar with IBM z/OS operating system
- Knowledge on Parallel Sysplex concepts
- Experience mainframe LPAR builds
- Implement DFSMS
- Develop and maintain ACS routines
- Support DFSMSdss data movement, dump and restores of DASD volume
- Implement automatic backup and migration (DFSMShsm)
- Expertise in managing catalogs
- Implement and support advanced copy services like PPRC, XRC, Flashcopy

-Installing and configuring additional physical storage

Role Description This full time, on-site Mainframe Storage Admin / Z/Os / DB2 role is based in PAN INDIA. The position is responsible for managing and optimizing mainframe storage environments, including allocation, performance monitoring, and capacity planning for z/OS and DB2 systems. Day-to-day tasks include administering storage solutions, executing and validating replication strategies, and ensuring data integrity and availability across critical systems.

The role involves diagnosing and resolving storage-related issues, performing root-cause analysis, and collaborating with system administrators, DB2 specialists, and application teams to support stable and secure operations.





The Mainframe Storage

Admin is also expected to document configurations, follow change management procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement of storage policies and processes.

Qualifications

- Strong storage management experience, including mainframe storage allocation, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on expertise with storage solutions and replication technologies in z/OS and DB2 environments.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills for complex storage, system, and performance issues.
- Solid background in system administration for z/OS, DB2, and related mainframe infrastructure.
- Familiarity with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery practices for enterprise systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional technical teams.
- Relevant academic background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; professional certifications in mainframe or storage technologies are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a large-scale enterprise or financial/healthcare mainframe environment is beneficial.
