Role Overview :-

We are looking for experienced Mainframe / DB2 Data Testing & Extraction professionals with strong hands-on experience in IBM Mainframe, DB2, SQL and data validation/testing . The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with large-volume data, extracting and validating data from DB2/mainframe systems, and supporting data migration, reconciliation, and testing activities.

The candidate will work closely with application, data, QA and business teams to ensure data accuracy, completeness and integrity across mainframe-based systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform data testing, validation and reconciliation across Mainframe/DB2 systems.
- Develop and execute SQL queries for data extraction, validation and analysis.
- Extract data from DB2 databases and validate against source/target systems.
- Perform data comparison, reconciliation and integrity checks for large datasets.
- Analyze and validate mainframe files, DB2 tables and batch-processing data .
- Understand business requirements and translate them into data testing scenarios and test cases.
- Validate data transformations, mappings and business rules during data migration/integration projects.
- Identify data discrepancies, perform root-cause analysis and work with development teams to resolve issues.
- Execute functional, regression and data validation testing for Mainframe/DB2 applications.
- Support ETL/data migration testing and source-to-target validation.
- Work with batch jobs and understand job dependencies and processing flows.
- Prepare test scenarios, test cases, test data and defect reports.




- Perform data profiling and investigate data quality issues.
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, QA teams and business stakeholders.
- Prepare test results, validation reports and other technical documentation.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe environments.
- Strong experience in DB2 database testing and data validation.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and complex SQL queries.
- Experience with data extraction, data reconciliation and source-to-target validation .
- Positive understanding of JCL and Mainframe batch processing.
- Experience working with Mainframe datasets/files such as VSAM and sequential files .
- Understanding of COBOL programs and Mainframe application flows.
- Experience with data testing tools/frameworks is an advantage.
- Good understanding of database concepts, data mapping and data quality.
- Experience in defect tracking and test management tools.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in ETL testing / data warehouse testing .
- Experience with data migration and legacy modernization projects .
- Exposure to tools such as Informatica, DataStage, Talend or similar ETL platforms .
- Experience with automated data validation/testing is desirable.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux scripting is an advantage.
- Experience in Banking, Insurance, Financial Services or other large enterprise environments is preferred.

Experience

- 6–10+ years of overall IT experience.
- Strong relevant experience in Mainframe, DB2, SQL and Data Testing/Validation .
- Candidates with hands-on experience in DB2 data extraction and reconciliation will be preferred.
