Loss prevention has numerous duties and responsibilities that are crucial for preventing the company from losing money and merchandise, while also ensuring a safe shopping experience.
- The following are major duties and responsibilities of a Loss Prevention Officer:
- 1. Monitor for unusual activity at retail stores
- 1. Monitor security systems, like alarms and closed-circuit cameras, to ensure they are working properly and in alignment for getting correct Visuals, including internet, router, etc
- 1. Identify potential thieves from customers or staff.
- 1. Follow and confront a potential person of interest who is suspected of shoplifting.
- 1. Document theft and other violations of security, and what they observed on duty.
- 1. Work with law enforcement to detain suspects of shoplifting or dishonest employees.
- 1. In retail stores, loss prevention protects people, money, equipment, and merchandise.
- 1. Undercover store detectives to prevent theft.
- 1. Count walk-in customers / Conversion Ratio to sales invoices
- 1. Record / Picture unusual activities
Retail Store Operations:
- 1. See that retail store staff do not use mobile/s during retail sales hours or at the store
- 1.
Ensure that retail store staff are present at the store on time as per the roster with specified uniform and grooming standards.
- 1. Count Customer Walk-ins and generate a conversion ratio to inform the store in charge to increase the conversion ratio regularly
- 1. Identify and report suspicious activities or policy violations.
- 1. Coordinate with Store Managers and Area Managers on inventory discrepancies.
- 1. Investigate incidents and prepare factual reports with preventive action plans.
- 1. Support training and awareness sessions for store teams on loss prevention.
- 1. Strong observation, investigation, and reporting skills.
- 1. Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- 1. Maintain data of the above and inform the HR/reporting manager for penalties, which have to be reported in the concerned group within 24 hours of the incident.
Inventory:
- 1. Conduct regular audits of stock and cash handling processes.
- 1. Mandatory to implement a monthly physical audit, identify differences and make reports to cut down variances every month
- 1. Monitor store operations to prevent stock shrinkage, theft, and pilferage.
- 1. Monitor Damages / Shortages and inform the store manager / in charge
- 1. Charge Penalties from time to time, giving notice along with proof within 24 hours of the activity
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
