Role & responsibilities

Storage Architecture & Design

- Design and manage enterprise NetApp ONTAP environments across FAS and AFF platforms.
- Develop HLD, LLD, and technical architecture documentation for storage environments.
- Architect SAN (FC/iSCSI) and NAS (CIFS/NFS) storage solutions, including multi-protocol environments.
- Design storage efficiency, tiering, and data protection strategies (SnapMirror, SnapVault, SnapLock).

Migration & Requirement Gathering

- Capture storage migration requirements from the customer, including capacity, performance, and dependency mapping.
- Document current-state storage setting (arrays, volumes, LUNs, shares, dependencies).
- Define intermediate and target-state NetApp architecture and migration approach for the destination data center.
- Lead storage migrations, including 7-Mode to Cluster-Mode transitions, array-to-array migrations, and SnapMirror-based data replication for cutover.
- Develop migration runbooks, cutover plans, validation checklists, and rollback procedures.

Operations & Integration

- Perform storage provisioning, capacity planning, and performance tuning across the NetApp estate.
- Integrate NetApp storage with VMware (vVols/NFS datastores)



and backup platforms (e.g., Veeam) for snapshot-based backup.
- Manage SAN zoning, multipathing, and network storage connectivity. Documentation & Leadership.
- Produce architecture diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and customer-facing design documentation.
- Act as the technical SME for NetApp storage technologies; mentor engineers and lead governance reviews.

- OnCommand / NetApp Active IQ Unified Manager
- Storage migration & data replication tooling
- SAN zoning & multipathing
- VMware storage integration (vVols/NFS datastores)

Preferred candidate profile

- 8+ years of storage engineering experience, with L3/L4 NetApp architecture expertise.
- Proven experience leading storage migration or data center consolidation programs.
- Experience authoring HLD/LLD and current/intermediate/target-state documentation for customer delivery.
- NetApp certifications (NCDA/NCIE) preferred.
