About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Lead Design Engineer – Oil & Gas HVAC Products to join our engineering team in Noida.

The ideal candidate will have strong prior experience in the design and engineering of HVAC products for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Power and other hazardous-area industrial applications. The candidate will lead a team of mechanical and electrical design engineers and be responsible for converting customer and tender requirements into technically compliant, manufacturable and commercially viable HVAC solutions.

The role requires a strong understanding of ATEX-certified and hazardous-area HVAC equipment, international standards and project-specific specifications, with experience supporting tenders and projects across the GCC, CIS and Indian markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering & Product Design

- Lead the complete engineering and design activities for industrial and Oil & Gas HVAC products.
- Develop and review mechanical and electrical designs, calculations, drawings, BOMs and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs meet applicable international standards, customer specifications and project requirements.
- Review product designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability and cost optimization.
- Lead design reviews and provide technical solutions for complex and customized HVAC requirements.
- Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, quality and project teams to ensure smooth execution of engineered products.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardization of product designs.

2. Hazardous Area / ATEX Engineering

- Provide technical leadership for HVAC products designed for hazardous and classified areas.
- Have prior experience with ATEX-certified products and equipment and their application in Oil & Gas environments.
- Interpret hazardous-area classifications and incorporate applicable requirements into equipment design.
- Review and define requirements for electrical components, motors, controls, junction boxes, instrumentation and other components used in hazardous areas.
- Coordinate with certification bodies, suppliers and internal engineering teams for certification and compliance requirements.
- Ensure technical documentation supports applicable certification and customer approval requirements.

3. Tender & Technical Engineering

- Review RFQs, tenders, technical specifications, datasheets,



drawings and project requirements from customers and EPC contractors.
- Prepare technical compliance statements, deviations, equipment selections and technical offers.
- Identify technical risks, exclusions, deviations and certification requirements at the tender stage.
- Work closely with the sales and commercial teams to develop technically and commercially competitive solutions.
- Support clarification meetings and technical discussions with customers, consultants and EPC contractors.
- Review and respond to technical queries and prepare detailed technical submissions.

4. International Market Requirements The candidate should have practical experience working with project requirements and standards applicable to:

- GCC markets – UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain.
- CIS markets and projects involving applicable regional/international standards.
- Indian Oil & Gas and industrial markets.

Experience with EPC contractors, consultants, Oil & Gas companies and major industrial customers will be highly desirable.

5. Team Leadership

- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical and electrical design engineers.
- Allocate engineering activities and monitor project deliverables.
- Review and approve engineering outputs before submission to customers or production.
- Develop engineering procedures, design standards and technical checklists.
- Build technical capabilities within the engineering team.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and resolve design conflicts.

Technical Knowledge & Expertise The candidate should have strong working knowledge of:

- Industrial HVAC systems and equipment.
- Packaged and customized HVAC equipment for Oil & Gas applications.
- Hazardous-area / explosion-protected HVAC equipment.
- ATEX requirements and certification.
- Mechanical design and engineering.
- Electrical design and control systems.
- HVAC performance calculations and equipment selection.
- Motors, compressors, fans, electrical panels and control systems.
- Instrumentation and control interfaces.
- Technical specifications and datasheet interpretation.
- Engineering drawings, GA drawings, schematics and BOMs.
- Applicable international HVAC, electrical and hazardous-area standards.
- Manufacturing and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Tender engineering and technical compliance.

Desired Standards / Certification Exposure





Prior working knowledge or exposure to relevant standards and certification requirements such as:

- ATEX
- IECEx
- IEC standards
- EN standards
- ISO standards
- Relevant hazardous-area classification requirements
- GCC Oil & Gas specifications
- Customer / EPC-specific engineering standards

Practical experience in applying these requirements to actual HVAC product designs is essential.

Qualifications

Required

:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within industrial HVAC, Oil & Gas or hazardous-area equipment.
- Proven experience leading a technical/design engineering team.
- Demonstrated experience in product design and engineering for Oil & Gas applications.
- Prior experience with ATEX-certified or hazardous-area products.
- Experience in tender engineering and technical submissions.

Preferred

:

- Experience with EPC contractors and Oil & Gas companies.
- Experience with GCC and international projects.
- Exposure to CIS market requirements.
- Experience working with certification agencies and third-party inspection bodies.
- Experience in customized / engineered-to-order HVAC products.

What We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is not purely a CAD/design engineer. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the complete technical process — from tender/specification review and equipment selection through mechanical/electrical design, hazardous-area compliance, certification, customer technical clarification and final engineering approval.

Candidates with proven experience in Oil & Gas HVAC products, ATEX/hazardous-area equipment and international tender engineering will be strongly preferred.
