Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer III specializing in Java, Apache Kafka, and Kubernetes to join our enterprise engineering organization in Mumbai. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying mission-critical, highly scalable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems in a large-scale corporate enterprise environment.

This is a Contract to Hire (C2H) engagement requiring proven, hands-on delivery in high-throughput transactional environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Architect, build, and maintain production-grade microservices and event-driven architectures using Java 8+, Spring Boot, and Apache Kafka.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized workloads across enterprise Kubernetes clusters, implementing autoscaling, security policies, and resilient deployment topologies.
- Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous integration, automated testing, and zero-downtime releases.
- Enforce security-by-design principles, identifying and remediating OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and conducting rigorous code reviews.
- Deliver resilient software using circuit breakers, retries, and bulkhead patterns, backing code with robust unit/integration tests (minimum 80% coverage).
- Safely integrate enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering tools into development workflows, critically reviewing generated code for correctness, security, and performance.




- Collaborate within Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks, contributing directly to sprint cycles, backlog grooming, and architecture design reviews.

4Apache KafkaMinimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Kafka producer/consumer design, topic/partition management, Kafka Streams, offset management, and fault tolerance.

5Kubernetes (K8s)Minimum 3 years managing pods, deployments, services, ConfigMaps,



Secrets, RBAC, HPA, and cluster-level troubleshooting in production.

6MicroservicesMinimum 3 years designing distributed microservices, service mesh integration, API gateways, and asynchronous/synchronous communication patterns

.7CI/CD & DevOpsMinimum 3 years hands-on with at least two CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or equivalent.

8Databases & QueryingMinimum 3 years with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and schema design.

9Application SecurityDocumented knowledge of OWASP Top 10, security-by-design, vulnerability remediation, and production security reviews.

10System ArchitectureProven track record of authoring architecture/design artifacts and making technical decisions for high-availability systems.

11Application ResiliencyPractical experience implementing fault tolerance patterns (circuit breakers, rate limiting, bulkheads, retry mechanisms).

12Automated TestingMinimum 3 years using JUnit 5, Mockito, Testcontainers, or TDD practices with strict 80% code coverage enforcement.

13AI-Assisted DevelopmentMinimum 2 years leveraging enterprise-authorized tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI) with proven ability to validate and verify AI-generated outputs.

14Responsible AI GovernanceClear adherence to enterprise AI security policies, data privacy protocols, and peer mentorship on secure AI adoption.

15Agile DeliveryMinimum 3 years operating in Agile/Scrum or Scaled Agile (Protected) environments.
