Duties and Responsibilities of an Interior Designer with Production Capabilities:

Design and Concept Development

- Develop creative design concepts for interior spaces, considering client requirements, aesthetic preferences, and functionality.

- Create sketches, 3D models, mood boards, and renderings to visually communicate design ideas to clients.

- Stay updated on design trends, materials, and innovations to incorporate into projects.

Material and Production Specification

- Select and specify appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, and accessories, ensuring they meet design and production feasibility.

- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source materials within budget and quality standards.

- Develop production specifications, including detailed drawings, material lists, and fabrication guidelines.

Production Oversight and Coordination

- Work closely with manufacturing teams or contractors to ensure the accurate production of custom furniture, fixtures, and interiors.

- Review prototypes and samples, providing feedback for modifications and ensuring adherence to the design intent.

- Monitor production schedules, timelines, and quality control to ensure timely project delivery.

Technical Drawings and Documentation

- Prepare detailed construction and technical drawings (CAD), including plans, elevations, and sections, for production teams and contractors.

- Ensure that all documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with production capabilities.





- Maintain clear communication with production staff, addressing technical issues and modifications as needed.

Project Management

- Coordinate between design, production, and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution from concept to completion.

- Manage budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring that production stays within project constraints.

- Conduct regular site visits or factory inspections to monitor production progress and address any in office issues.

Client Interaction and Collaboration

- Communicate design ideas, production processes, and timelines clearly to clients.

- Collaborate with clients to ensure that the final product aligns with their vision and expectations.

- Provide regular updates on the production and installation process.

Compliance and Safety

- Ensure that all designs and production processes comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.

- Incorporate sustainable design and production practices where applicable.

Problem-Solving:

- Address and resolve any design or production issues that arise during the manufacturing or installation phases.

- Adapt designs to fit within production constraints without compromising on quality or aesthetics.
