About the Opportunity
HummingBird is hiring a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) on behalf of its client, a leading organization in the retail industry .
The HRBP will partner closely with business leaders and employees to align people strategies with business objectives. The role will involve employee engagement, talent management, performance management, workforce planning, employee relations, and HR operations across the organization.
The ideal candidate should have strong business partnering capabilities, excellent communication skills, and experience managing HR initiatives in a fast-paced retail or customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partnership
- Partner with business leaders and functional managers to understand workforce requirements and provide effective HR solutions.
- Translate business objectives into actionable people strategies and HR initiatives.
- Act as a trusted HR advisor to managers and employees.
- Support organizational growth, restructuring, and change management initiatives.
Talent Management & Workforce Planning
- Support workforce planning, manpower budgeting, and resource requirements.
- Identify critical talent and support succession planning initiatives.
- Partner with recruitment teams to address hiring requirements and talent gaps.
- Monitor employee movement, attrition, and workforce trends.
Performance Management
- Drive the performance management cycle across assigned business units.
- Guide managers on goal setting, performance reviews, feedback, and development plans.
- Support identification and management of high performers and underperforming employees.
- Facilitate performance improvement initiatives where required.
Employee Engagement & Relations
- Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives aligned with business needs.
- Address employee concerns and support effective grievance resolution.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture.
- Conduct employee connects, feedback sessions, and engagement activities.
Learning & Development
- Identify employee capability and development needs in partnership with business leaders.
- Support learning and development programs and career progression initiatives.
- Work with managers to build development plans for key employees.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure effective implementation of HR policies, processes, and procedures.
- Partner with HR operations teams on employee lifecycle activities.
- Maintain compliance with applicable employment laws and organizational policies.
- Support HR audits, documentation, and reporting requirements.
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyze HR metrics such as attrition, headcount, absenteeism, engagement, and performance.
- Prepare HR dashboards and management reports to support decision-making.
- Identify workforce trends and provide data-driven recommendations to business leaders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources,
Business Administration, or a related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources will be preferred.
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in HR Business Partnering or Generalist HR roles.
- Experience in the retail industry or a large, customer-facing organization is preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, employee relations, performance management, and talent management.
- Good knowledge of HR policies, processes, and employment regulations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
