Role Description The Host/Hostess role is a full-time, on-site position based at The Shalimar Hotel in Mumbai. This role is responsible for greeting guests warmly upon arrival, managing waiting lists, and escorting guests to their tables or designated areas. Daily tasks include handling reservations, answering phone inquiries, coordinating with the restaurant and front office teams, and ensuring accurate guest seating and flow.

The Host/Hostess maintains a welcoming atmosphere, addresses guest questions or concerns, and supports overall guest satisfaction by providing courteous, efficient service.



The role also involves maintaining cleanliness and organization at the host desk and entry areas, and assisting with basic administrative or service tasks as needed.

Qualifications

- Robust Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to provide a welcoming, guest-focused experience.
- Experience with Reservations management and Phone Etiquette for handling bookings and inquiries professionally.
- Clear and confident Communication skills for interacting with guests and coordinating with internal teams.
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and time management.
- Prior experience in hospitality, restaurant, or front desk operations is preferred.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with reservation or POS systems is an advantage.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Hindi and regional languages is beneficial.
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
