About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented HR Manager – Plant Operations to manage end-to-end HR activities at our manufacturing facility in Pune. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Labour Laws, Statutory Compliance, Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, and Plant HR Operations.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth HR operations at the plant while maintaining compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities1. Labour Laws & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable Central and State Labour Laws, rules, and regulations.
- Manage statutory compliances related to PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, Minimum Wages, Shops & Establishments, Contract Labour, Factory-related compliances, and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain statutory registers, records, returns, licenses, notices, and documentation.
- Coordinate with government authorities, labour departments, inspectors, and external consultants during inspections and audits.
- Monitor changes in labour legislation and ensure timely implementation of regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance for contract workers and third-party manpower deployed at the plant.
1. Industrial Relations & Employee Relations
- Handle day-to-day Industrial Relations (IR) and employee relations matters at the plant.
- Address employee grievances, disciplinary matters, misconduct cases, and workplace conflicts.
- Support management in handling disciplinary actions, show-cause notices, warnings, domestic enquiries, and related documentation.
- Maintain effective relationships with employees, workmen, supervisors, and plant management.
- Handle union-related matters and support management in maintaining a positive industrial environment, where applicable.
1. Plant HR Operations
- Manage complete HR operations for the manufacturing plant, including manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, attendance, leave, payroll coordination, employee documentation, and exit formalities.
- Ensure effective workforce deployment in coordination with Production and Operations teams.
- Monitor absenteeism, attrition, overtime, manpower productivity, and workforce-related issues.
- Coordinate with payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely salary processing.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
1. Contract Labour Management
- Manage and monitor contract labour and manpower vendors.
- Ensure contractors comply with applicable statutory requirements.
- Verify contractor documentation, licenses, wage records, attendance, PF/ESIC compliance, and statutory submissions.
- Conduct periodic compliance audits of contractors and take corrective actions wherever required.
1. HR Policies & Processes
- Implement and monitor HR policies, procedures, and processes at the plant.
- Ensure effective implementation of company policies related to attendance, leave, discipline, employee conduct, and workplace practices.
- Drive employee engagement, welfare initiatives, training programs, and HR interventions.
1. Compliance, Audits & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain HR and statutory compliance reports for management.
- Support internal and external HR/statutory audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and compliance gaps.
- Provide regular reports on manpower, attrition, absenteeism, overtime, employee relations, and compliance status.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Labour Laws, or a related field.
- 9–12 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in the manufacturing/plant environment.
- Strong knowledge of Labour Laws and Statutory Compliance.
- Hands-on experience in Industrial Relations (IR) and Employee Relations (ER).
- Good understanding of PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, Minimum Wages, Contract Labour compliance, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Experience in handling labour contractors and third-party manpower.
- Strong communication, negotiation, grievance-handling, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to independently manage plant HR operations and work closely with senior management and plant leadership.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates with strong Plant HR / Factory HR experience will be preferred.
- Experience in handling workmen, contract labour, industrial relations, labour disputes, and statutory inspections will be an added advantage.
- Should be comfortable working in a 100% Work From Office environment.
- Candidates currently based in Pune or willing to relocate to Pune may apply.
