Position Overview The Unit Head will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of unit operations, ensuring seamless service delivery, adherence to quality standards, statutory compliance, safety, environment management, and people development. This role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across processes, systems, and people.

Key Responsibilities

Unit Deliverables

- Ensure seamless servicing of daily pending orders and production plans.
- Review ZPP074 reports regularly to align with production schedules.
- Drive adherence to deviation management processes and timely resolution of quality deviations.
- Guarantee consistent product quality that meets customer requirements.
- Analyze and resolve customer complaints within 15 days of receipt.
- Monitor and control RM/PM/SFG variances to maximize yield at minimal cost.
- Optimize energy utilization by maintaining standard cycle times and minimizing reworks/waste.
- Escalate non-moving/slow-moving inventories to HO for timely resolution.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance of critical process and environmental equipment.
- Drive cost efficiency and maximize capacity utilization through optimal use of manpower, materials, and machinery.

Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all statutory acts and rules applicable to unit operations.
- Maintain and update factory licenses and permissions monthly, taking timely action for renewals.
- Liaise with statutory authorities including PCB, Factories Inspectorate, Gram Panchayats/Municipal bodies, and Fire Services.





Safety & Environment
- Implement and sustain the EHS Management System at the unit.
- Conduct safety risk assessments and address high-risk activities.
- Ensure effective implementation of critical safety systems (Permit System, Electrical Safety, LOTO, Fire Control).
- Conduct internal and external fire safety audits and close audit points promptly.
- Drive accident/incident reporting, investigation, and corrective action deployment.
- Maintain MIS for safety performance including accidents, incidents, and near misses.

People Management
- Recruit and develop junior-level plant staff and nurture talent across all levels.
- Engage with employees regularly to understand and address concerns.
- Escalate potential issues to Function Head and HR leadership.
- Conduct employee engagement initiatives (HAH, Open House, Recognition programs).
- Foster a cohesive, trust-based work workplace across the unit.

Key Initiatives / IRMs & DRMs
- Align unit strategies with major functional initiatives.
- Ensure robust IRM/DRM processes and execution of key systems and modules.
- Drive continuous improvement and development of processes, systems, and modules.

Candidate Profile
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Engineering, Science, or related discipline.
- 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, quality systems, statutory compliance, and EHS management.
- Proven leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
