The Head of Construction is a member of Bren's Leadership Team and is responsible for shaping and leading the organization's Projects business. The role provides strategic direction across the entire project portfolio, ensuring that every development is aligned with Bren's growth strategy, commercial objectives, customer commitments, and brand promise.

Beyond overseeing project delivery, the Head of Construction is accountable for building a scalable, future ready project organization that consistently delivers operational excellence, financial discipline, and execution certainty. The role drives enterprise wide decisions relating to project governance, capital efficiency, organizational capability, innovation, risk management, and business performance while partnering closely with the Managing Director to support Bren's long term growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

• Define the long term strategy for the Projects function in alignment with Bren's business objectives and growth plans.
- Partner with the Managing Director and Executive Leadership Team to shape the organization's project portfolio, investment priorities, and execution roadmap.
- Establish a high performing operating model that supports sustainable growth, scalability, and operational excellence.
- Drive strategic initiatives that strengthen Bren's competitive position and execution capabilities.
- Provide executive oversight on key business decisions impacting project delivery and organizational performance.

1. Portfolio Leadership

• Provide strategic oversight across the complete project portfolio, ensuring delivery aligns with approved business objectives, commercial commitments, and customer expectations.
- Balance project priorities, organizational capacity, and capital allocation to maximize portfolio performance.
- Review project health, delivery risks, financial performance, and resource requirements through structured governance mechanisms.
- Drive timely executive decisions to remove organizational barriers and maintain delivery momentum.
- Ensure effective integration across planning, design, procurement, engineering,



construction, quality, and customer handover.

1. Business Performance & Value Creation

• Own the overall performance of the Projects function as a strategic business vertical.
- Drive productivity, operational efficiency, and cost optimization across the project lifecycle.
- Champion value engineering and continuous improvement while maintaining Bren's quality standards.
- Ensure disciplined governance of budgets, project cash flows, commercial performance, and resource utilization.
- Monitor portfolio level performance through executive dashboards, analytics, and business reviews.

1. Governance, Risk & Operational Excellence

• Establish enterprise wide project governance frameworks, decision making protocols, and performance standards.
- Drive consistency in project management practices, reporting, and execution across all developments.
- Ensure robust risk identification, mitigation, and escalation mechanisms are embedded across the portfolio.
- Oversee compliance with statutory requirements, contractual obligations, quality standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety practices.
- Strengthen organizational resilience through proactive planning and disciplined operational governance.

1. Innovation & Future Readiness

• Lead the transformation of Bren's project delivery capabilities through technology, digitalization, and process innovation.
- Drive adoption of advanced construction methodologies, integrated project controls, BIM, automation, and data driven decision making.
- Promote sustainable construction practices and operational excellence across the organization.
- Build strategic partnerships with consultants, contractors, technology providers, and industry partners to enhance organizational capability.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning across the Projects function.

1. Leadership & Organizational Capability





• Build and lead a high performing leadership team across Projects.
- Develop organizational capability through succession planning, leadership development, and talent management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and execution excellence.
- Partner with Human Resources to strengthen workforce planning, capability development, and leadership effectiveness.
- Inspire teams to deliver exceptional outcomes while reinforcing Bren's values and leadership expectations.

1. Executive Stakeholder Management

• Represent the Projects function in executive leadership discussions and strategic business reviews.
- Build trusted relationships with consultants, contractors, regulatory authorities, financial institutions, and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Business Development, Design, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Customer Experience, and Human Resources to ensure enterprise alignment.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to the Managing Director on matters impacting project delivery and organizational growth.

Key Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory. A Master's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
- 18 - 20 years of progressive leadership experience in real estate development, infrastructure, or construction, including significant experience leading large scale project portfolios.
- Demonstrated success in leading complex, multi project organizations with full accountability for business outcomes.
- Solid understanding of project strategy, construction management, commercial management, contracts, procurement, engineering, project controls, finance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and build high performing organizations.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing capital intensive projects and driving financial performance.
- Experience leading organizational transformation, operational excellence, and business improvement initiatives.
- Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and decision making skills.
