Role Purpose The Head – Horticulture & Landscaping will be responsible for the overall planning, development, execution, and maintenance of landscaped areas, gardens, lawns, plantations, nurseries, and green spaces across the organization/site.

The role will ensure that all horticulture and landscaping activities are delivered to high standards of aesthetics, plant health, sustainability, safety, cost efficiency, and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities1. Horticulture & Landscape Management

- Lead the overall horticulture and landscaping operations across the site.
- Develop and implement annual and seasonal horticulture plans.
- Maintain lawns, gardens, flower beds, ornamental plants, shrubs, hedges, trees, palms, avenue plantations, and green belts.
- Ensure proper pruning, trimming, mowing, watering, fertilization, mulching, weeding, and plant protection.
- Develop appropriate plant palettes based on soil, climate, water availability, aesthetics, and site conditions.
- Monitor plant health and implement preventive and corrective measures for pests, diseases, and nutritional deficiencies.

2. Landscape Development & Projects
- Plan and supervise new landscaping and garden development projects.
- Review landscape drawings, planting plans, irrigation layouts, and BOQs.
- Coordinate with architects, landscape consultants, civil teams, MEP teams, and contractors.
- Supervise plantation drives, tree transplantation, lawn development, vertical gardens, green walls, and seasonal displays.
- Ensure projects are executed as per approved designs, specifications, quality standards, timelines, and budgets.

3. Nursery Management
- Plan and manage in-house nursery operations, wherever applicable.
- Maintain adequate stock of seasonal flowers, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees, and planting materials.
- Establish plant propagation and replacement plans.
- Maintain nursery records, plant inventories, and mortality/replacement data.

4. Irrigation & Water Management
- Ensure efficient irrigation of all landscaped areas.
- Manage sprinkler, drip, automated irrigation, and other watering systems.
- Monitor water consumption and identify opportunities for water conservation.
- Coordinate with engineering/facility teams for irrigation infrastructure, pumps, tanks, and related systems.
- Promote the use of treated/recycled water wherever technically and legally appropriate.

5. Team & Contractor Management
- Lead horticulture supervisors, gardeners, technicians, operators, and support staff.
- Prepare manpower deployment plans and daily/weekly work schedules.
- Monitor productivity, attendance, discipline, and quality of work.




- Train staff on horticulture practices, equipment handling, chemical safety, and workplace safety.
- Manage landscaping and horticulture contractors and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

6. Budget & Cost Control
- Prepare annual horticulture and landscaping budgets.
- Control expenditure on manpower, plants, fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation, equipment, tools, and consumables.
- Review contractor bills, measurements, material consumption, and work completion.
- Identify cost-saving and resource-optimization opportunities without compromising quality.

7. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Identify and evaluate nurseries, landscape contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Ensure timely procurement of plants, soil/media, fertilizers, manure, pesticides, tools, machinery, irrigation components, and other materials.
- Monitor vendor performance, quality, delivery schedules, and commercial compliance.
- Maintain approved vendor and material records.

8. Sustainability & Environmental Management
- Drive sustainable landscaping practices across the site.
- Promote native, climate-appropriate, and low-water plant species.
- Implement composting, mulching, organic manure, rainwater utilization, and water-saving practices where feasible.
- Support tree plantation and biodiversity initiatives.
- Minimize chemical usage through integrated pest management and environmentally responsible practices.

9. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and application of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other horticultural chemicals.
- Ensure proper PPE and safety practices for all horticulture personnel.
- Maintain safe operation of lawn mowers, brush cutters, chainsaws, tractors, irrigation equipment, and other machinery.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, environmental, safety, and organizational requirements.
- Maintain required records, licenses, permits, and documentation.

10. Quality & Reporting
- Conduct regular inspections of landscaped areas and establish quality standards.
- Develop maintenance checklists, SOPs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Track plant mortality, irrigation performance, pest/disease incidence, water consumption, manpower productivity,



and maintenance costs.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports for management.
- Respond promptly to complaints and requirements related to landscaping and horticulture.

- Strong knowledge of horticulture, floriculture, arboriculture, and landscape maintenance

- Strong manpower and contractor management skills
- Budgeting, procurement, and vendor-management capability

- Good communication, reporting, and documentation skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office and relevant landscape/project-management software

Experience Profile
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in horticulture and landscaping.
- Experience managing large landscaped areas, preferably in a township, luxury residential development, hotel, hospital, institutional campus, industrial facility, resort, or large corporate estate.
- Experience in managing teams, contractors, budgets, irrigation systems, nurseries, and landscape-development projects.
- Experience with sustainable landscaping and water-conservation practices will be an advantage.

Authority & Decision-Making The position will be responsible for day-to-day operational decisions related to horticulture and landscaping, manpower deployment, maintenance priorities, plant replacement, contractor coordination, and resource utilization, within approved policies and budgets.

Overall Accountability To maintain and enhance the organization's green assets and landscaped environment through effective horticulture practices, professional landscape management, efficient resource utilization, solid team leadership, and sustainable environmental practices.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
