- Responsible for supporting the AVP Ferro Alloy Unit (FAU) with planning, overseeing, and reporting all daily operational activities of all six furnaces of the Ferro Alloy Unit (FAU) and the associated Raw Material Handling System (RMHS), Waste Handling, Sinter, Briquette, and Jigging plants, collectively called the Ancillary units.

- The individual must ensure smooth plant operations and must have a deep understanding of Ferro Alloy Unit planning, operations, and maintenance.

- Support the VP FAU with managing all the operational workstreams and activities of the entire FAU covering all six furnaces and the ancillary units to ensure optimal efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

- Support the VP FAU and other relevant stakeholders with the development and implementation of FAU operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.

- Monitor the operations of all six furnaces and the ancillary units, and overall plant performance and guide relevant functional heads with identifying and implementing improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve reliability.

- Manage and lead a team of managers, engineers, technicians, and operators to ensure all activities are performed safely and effectively

- Support and guide the development and implementation of various operational and technical systems and processes to monitor, record, and control the consumption of raw material, energy, and other resources.

- Monitor and validate the quality tests performed for all FAU unit raw materials and accordingly plan for the consumption of the same.





- Monitor the quality tests performed for all finished goods and ensure adherence with the production plan.

- Ensure that the entire workforce of FAU & ancillary unit is trained, equipped, and supervised appropriately to carry out their duties effectively

- Conduct daily visits across the plant to observe, validate, and rectify process deviances and abnormalities.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of periodic maintenance schedules as well as planned shutdown activities of all six furnaces and the ancillary units work areas, machinery, and equipment to ensure minimum breakdown events and provide relevant inputs for the same.

- Attend the FAU operations and maintenance budget planning and management meetings with relevant departments and ensure appropriate coordination of activities and effective communication across the organization

- Oversee the implementation of periodic skills and knowledge development training programs across the FAU team and provide relevant support as required

- Oversee the maintenance of accurate records of plant operations, quality tests, and maintenance activities.

- Validate the plant operations data sets at daily review meetings and to establish adherence to production plan, identify deviances, assess root causes of the same, and develop action plans to eliminate/resolve the same.

- Prepare and present the FAU operations data sets at the regular CRM, MAT and SCM events and justify the deviances with appropriate support from Manager Process.

- Maintain a protected working environment, ensuring that all employees are trained in safety protocols and that all equipment is properly maintained.

- Perform any additional tasks as requested by top management.
