Head Finance & Accounts

Goodman Vetcare Pvt. Ltd. is a growing animal healthcare business operating across pet retail and e-commerce through Animeal, veterinary medicines, veterinary medical instruments and equipment, and B2B animal healthcare.

As the business continues to grow and prepares for future fundraising, we are looking for an experienced Head – Finance & Accounts who can take ownership of the finance and accounting function and build strong financial controls across the organisation.

The role will work closely with the Founder/Directors and manage the existing accounts team.

Key Responsibilities

- Take overall responsibility for accounts, finance, taxation and statutory compliance.
- Supervise day-to-day accounting, reconciliations and month-end/year-end closure.
- Manage GST, TDS, income tax and other statutory compliances, including timely filings and reconciliations.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, tax consultants, banks and other external professionals.
- Lead preparation for statutory audits, tax audits and internal audits.
- Prepare accurate monthly MIS, P&L;, Balance Sheet, cash-flow reports and management dashboards.
- Develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts and department-wise expenditure.
- Track receivables, payables, working capital and cash-flow requirements.
- Maintain daily visibility of bank balances, collections, payments and major financial commitments.
- Strengthen internal controls, approval processes and financial discipline across the organisation.
- Review vendor/customer reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Support management in pricing, margins, profitability and business decision-making.
- Ensure books and documentation are maintained in a manner suitable for investor and lender due diligence.
- Assist in preparation of financial information, schedules,



reports and documentation required during fundraising, due diligence and investor discussions.
- Coordinate across multiple businesses/entities and provide consolidated financial information to the Directors.
- Lead, train and review the existing accounts team.

Candidate Profile We are looking for someone who is hands-on, commercially aware and strong on compliance, rather than someone who only supervises accounting from a distance.

The ideal candidate should have:

- 7–12 years of relevant Finance & Accounts experience.
- Strong practical knowledge of GST, TDS, taxation, audits and statutory compliance.
- Experience preparing and reviewing P&L;, Balance Sheet, cash-flow statements and MIS.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and working-capital management.
- Excellent Excel skills and experience with accounting/ERP systems.
- Experience dealing directly with auditors, consultants, banks and government authorities.
- Ability to manage multiple companies/entities and supervise an accounts team.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership and ability to work independently.
- Experience in a growing company, startup, retail, e-commerce, healthcare, pharma or distribution environment would be helpful.

Qualification: CA / CMA preferred. Solid CA Inter, M.Com or MBA-Finance candidates with substantial hands-on experience may also be considered. What success in this role should look like The Directors should be able to get, at any time, a transparent picture of:

Tax/compliance status

Budget vs actual

Financial risks requiring management attention

And your books should be sufficiently organised that when an investor asks for financial information or begins due diligence, you are preparing documents—not repairing accounting records.
