Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering

- Develop and optimize sheet metal forming processes such as:

- Bending

- Stretch forming

- Hydroforming

- Roll forming

- Deep drawing

- Press braking

- Flanging
- Create manufacturing process sheets, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Determine forming sequences and process parameters to achieve dimensional accuracy and product quality.

Tooling and Fixture Development
- Design and validate forming dies, jigs, fixtures, and templates.
- Support tooling procurement, trials, and qualification activities.
- Coordinate with tooling vendors and internal teams for modifications and improvements.

Production Support
- Provide technical support to fabrication shop-floor operations.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to forming defects, springback, wrinkling, cracking, and dimensional deviations.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards such as:

- AS9100

- NADCAP requirements
- Customer specifications (Boeing, Airbus, etc.)
- Review First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements.
- Support non-conformance investigations and corrective action activities.

Process Improvement
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Reduce scrap, rework, cycle time, and manufacturing costs.
- Monitor process capability and production metrics.

Documentation & Validation
- Prepare process qualification documents and manufacturing records.
- Support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and process validation activities where applicable.
- Maintain engineering change documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration




- Work closely with Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Tool Design, Supply Chain, and Production teams.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews.

Required Qualifications

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

Experience
- 3-8 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.
- Experience with metallic materials such as:

- Aluminum alloys

- Titanium alloys

- Stainless steel
- Inconel and nickel-based alloys

Technical Skills
- Solid knowledge of sheet metal forming principles and material behavior.

- Experience with

- CNC press brakes

- Hydraulic presses

- Stretch forming machines

- Hydroforming equipment
- Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings and GD&T; (ASME Y14.5).
- Familiarity with CAD software such as CATIA, NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of FMEA, SPC, RCA, and statistical process control techniques.

Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of Boeing and Airbus manufacturing specifications.
- AS9100 quality system exposure.
- Understanding of finite element simulation for forming processes.
