Job Summary The IPM Executive will be responsible for managing and executing Intellectual Property (IP) activities related to APIs and pharmaceutical research. The role requires hands-on experience in patent drafting, filing, prosecution, and strategic IP planning to support R&D; and business objectives.
Qualifications
- M.Pharm / M.Sc. / Ph.D. (Pharmaceutical Sciences / Chemistry / Life Sciences)
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical IP Management
- At least 10 patents filed & prosecuted (India and/or International jurisdictions)
Key Responsibilities Patent Filing & Prosecution
- Hands-on experience in API patent filings (Mandatory)
- Draft, review, and file patent applications (provisional, complete, PCT, national phase)
- Manage patent prosecution activities including responding to examination reports
- Coordinate with patent attorneys and regulatory teams for filings in India and abroad
NCE & Regulatory Support
- Experience in NCE patent filings (Preferred)
- Exposure to ANDA / 505(b)(2) filings – Added advantage
- Conduct patentability searches, FTO (Freedom to Operate), and landscape analysis
- Support regulatory submissions with IP strategy alignment
IP Strategy & R&D; Collaboration
- Develop and implement IP strategies aligned with business and R&D; goals
- Provide technical IP support to API and formulation development teams
- Monitor competitor patents and emerging technologies
- Maintain IP portfolio documentation and tracking systems
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of Pharmaceutical R&D; and IP Strategy
- Expertise in patent databases and search tools
- Knowledge of Indian Patent Act and international patent systems (US, EU, PCT)
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills
- Excellent coordination and communication abilities
