Syenah Study Abroad is looking for an experienced Academic Counsellor to join our team in Thrissur.
The ideal candidate should have previous experience working with a study-abroad/overseas education consultancy and understand the student counselling, university selection, admissions and application process.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel students and parents regarding study-abroad opportunities.
- Understand students' academic backgrounds, career goals and financial requirements.
- Recommend suitable countries, universities and courses based on individual student profiles.
- Handle walk-in, phone and online enquiries.
- Follow up with prospective students and maintain regular communication.
- Guide students through the university selection and application process.
- Explain admission requirements, tuition fees, scholarships and available study pathways.
- Assist students throughout the admission process and ensure timely follow-ups.
- Coordinate with application, documentation and visa teams.
- Maintain accurate student records and update the counselling pipeline.
- Build strong relationships with students and parents.
- Work towards monthly counselling and admission targets.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in study-abroad counselling or overseas education consulting.
- Previous experience working in a study-abroad agency/consultancy is required.
- Good knowledge of international education destinations, universities and admission processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent student counselling and relationship-building skills.
- Robust follow-up and lead-conversion abilities.
- Ability to work towards targets and deadlines.
- Good command of English.
- Knowledge of Malayalam and/or Tamil will be an advantage.
