This is an operations + support role where the person ensures that customer orders flow correctly between customers' systems and SAP through EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).
Instead of customers emailing or calling orders, their ERP system sends orders electronically. The EDI analyst monitors these transactions, fixes failures, coordinates with customers and internal teams, and ensures orders are processed without delay.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Monitor incoming EDI orders
Resolve EDI transaction failures
Check SAP order creation
Work with customer service, IT, and customers
Manage IDOCs and Partner Profiles
Support Order-to-Cash (O2C) process
Create reports using Excel
Improve existing EDI processes
