About The Role

We are looking for a DevOps Intern to join our Platform Engineering team and help manage routine infrastructure and operational requests using established runbooks and processes.

This role is designed for someone at the beginning of their DevOps journey who wants hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, access management, configuration management, production operations and automation.

DevOps Intern will work closely with experienced DevOps engineers, initially handling well-defined, low-risk operational tasks under supervision and gradually taking ownership of additional request categories as DevOps Intern builds confidence.

A key part of the role will also be identifying repetitive work and helping automate it, with the goal of reducing manual operational effort over time.

What DevOps Intern’ll Do

Execute routine DevOps requests using documented runbooks and standard operating procedures.





- Manage environment-variable and configuration updates through approved processes.
- Provision and modify access for AWS, databases, monitoring tools, VPNs and other internal systems.
- Handle IP whitelisting and other approved network configuration requests.
- Perform approved production commands or queries under appropriate review and approval.
- Assist with CDN config and scheduled job/cron configuration.
- Support certificate, token and other credential/configuration updates following security procedures.
- Validate changes, document actions taken and communicate completion to internal requesters.
- Escalate anything that falls outside an approved runbook or requires engineering judgment.
- Maintain and improve operational documentation and runbooks.
- Identify repetitive manual tasks and contribute to automation/self-service solutions.
- Work with senior engineers to safely test and roll out automation for frequently requested operations.

During the internship, DevOps Intern will progressively be exposed to:

- AWS and cloud infrastructure
- Kubernetes/EKS fundamentals
- HashiCorp Vault and secrets/configuration management
- IAM and access management
- Networking concepts such as IP allowlisting, DNS, ALB and reverse proxies
- Monitoring and observability
- Production operations and incident-prevention practices
- CI/CD and infrastructure automation
- Infrastructure-as-code and scripting
- Building internal self-service tools

What We’re Looking For

- Basic understanding of Linux and command-line tools.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as IP addresses, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS and ports.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash or a similar language.




- Introductory knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Willingness to learn Kubernetes, infrastructure and DevOps practices.
- Solid attention to detail when following operational procedures.
- Valuable written and verbal communication.
- Ability to document work clearly and escalate issues when something does not match the expected process.
- A security-conscious approach to handling credentials, access and production systems.

Nice to Have

- Exposure to AWS IAM, EC2, S3, CloudWatch or similar services.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or EKS.
- Exposure to Terraform or another infrastructure-as-code tool.
- Basic understanding of Vault or secrets management.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience building small scripts or automation tools.
- Academic projects, labs, certifications or personal projects involving cloud/DevOps.

Success In This Role Will Be Measured Through

- Accurate and timely completion of routine operational requests.
- Consistent adherence to runbooks, security controls and approval processes.
- Clear documentation and communication.
- Reduction in turnaround time for routine requests.
- Number of repetitive operational tasks identified and automated.
- Contribution toward self-service tooling that reduces the need for manual intervention.
