Role Description The Design For Test Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South. This role focuses on developing and implementing Design for Test (DFT) strategies for integrated circuits, including scan insertion, boundary scan, and built-in self-test (BIST) structures.

The engineer will collaborate with design, verification, and product engineering teams to define test requirements, review design implementation, and ensure testability and coverage goals are met. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and validating test plans, running simulations, analyzing test coverage metrics, and optimizing patterns for yield and quality.



The role also involves preparing documentation, supporting test program bring-up on ATE, and contributing to continuous improvements in test methodology and workflows.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in digital electronics, VLSI design, and semiconductor test principles, with knowledge of scan-based DFT, boundary scan (JTAG), and BIST techniques.
- Experience with EDA tools used for DFT insertion and verification (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, or Mentor tools) and familiarity with RTL design and simulation flows.
- Understanding of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) concepts, test program development, and analysis of test data for yield, coverage, and failure diagnosis.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming (such as Python, Perl, or TCL) to automate test flows, data analysis, and report generation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and document methodologies and results in a structured manner.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Prior exposure to SoC or ASIC development, manufacturing test, or product engineering is an advantage.
