Preferred candidate profile:

The CT & MRI Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic CT and MRI procedures using advanced imaging equipment. The role involves independently operating CT and MRI systems, ensuring accurate patient positioning and adherence to imaging protocols, maintaining high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring patient safety, and assisting radiologists in routine and specialized procedures.

Role & responsibilities:

A. Patient Care & Preparation

- Provide pre- and post-procedure care to patients.
- Explain imaging procedures, preparation, and safety precautions.
- Prepare and position patients accurately for CT and MRI examinations.
- Perform appropriate MRI screening for implants, metallic objects, and other safety considerations.
- Monitor patients during and after procedures, especially during contrast studies.

B. CT & MRI Imaging Procedures

- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including:
- CT Scan
- MRI
- Contrast-enhanced CT / MRI studies
- Specialized CT and MRI investigations as per training and competency
- Independently operate CT and MRI equipment efficiently to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Select and follow appropriate imaging protocols as per the examination and radiologist instructions.
- Ensure proper patient positioning and protocol selection for different examinations.
- Assist in specialized procedures and contrast studies where required.

C. Equipment Handling & Radiologist Assistance





- Handle and operate advanced / state-of-the-art CT and MRI equipment efficiently.
- Ensure readiness and proper functioning of equipment before procedures.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report technical issues promptly.
- Assist radiologists in non-invasive and invasive imaging procedures.
- Ensure readiness of required instruments, accessories, and consumables.
- Support in documentation and preparation of diagnostic reports.

D. Safety & Compliance

- Adhere strictly to radiation protection and safety guidelines.
- Ensure safety of patients, attendants, and staff during procedures.
- Follow MRI safety protocols, including appropriate patient screening.
- Follow infection control and hospital safety protocols.
- Ensure protected handling and monitoring of patients during contrast studies.

E. Documentation & Records

- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging data.
- Update PACS/RIS systems and complete all required documentation.
- Retrieve and manage patient imaging files and reports.
- Maintain records related to CT and MRI procedures as required.

F. Departmental Support

- Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of CT and MRI equipment.
- Maintain availability of required consumables and accessories.
- Coordinate effectively with Radiologists and other Radiology staff.
- Assist in training juniors, interns, and new staff as required.
- Support smooth functioning of CT and MRI services.
