Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced CICS / MQ on z/OS Administrator with 6+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe infrastructure services. The candidate should have strong expertise in CICS administration, IBM MQ on z/OS, CICSPlex, MQ Sharing, upgrades, maintenance, performance tuning, and production support . The role will also involve leading infrastructure services and providing technical guidance to the team.

Key ResponsibilitiesCICS Administration

- Administer and support CICS environments and associated CICS products on z/OS.
- Perform CICS version upgrades, migrations, patching, and maintenance .
- Apply patches and maintain CICS software, HostBridge, and CICS ISV products .
- Perform CICS resource definitions in both online and batch modes.
- Build and configure CICS regions .
- Configure and maintain CICS initialization parameters .
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of CICSPlex concepts – Mandatory .
- Troubleshoot and resolve CICS system issues, abends, and production incidents .
- Identify required patches and coordinate their installation and implementation.
- Manage CICS security administration and related configurations.
- Perform CICS performance monitoring, analysis, and tuning .
- Configure and maintain CICS intercommunication environments.
- Provide technical support to application teams for CICS-specific issues .
- Provide 24x7 production and on-call support as required.

MQ on z/OS Administration
- Administer and support IBM WebSphere MQ / IBM MQ on z/OS environments.
- Perform MQ product upgrades, patching, maintenance, and migrations .
- Define, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot MQ objects and resources .
- Build and configure MQ regions .




- Demonstrate strong knowledge of MQ Sharing concepts – Mandatory .
- Configure and manage CICS-MQ integration , including CICS adapter control functions for connections between CICS and IBM MQ.
- Manage and maintain WebSphere MQ resources , including:
- BSDS
- Page sets
- Buffer pools
- Logs
- Monitor MQ environments and troubleshoot MQ-related production issues and failures .

Leadership & Infrastructure Responsibilities
- Lead infrastructure services and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams for issue resolution and planned activities.
- Support production implementations, upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities .
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Ensure proper technical documentation and operational procedures are maintained.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical support on complex CICS/MQ issues.
