Role Description The Chief Hostel Warden is a full-time, on-site position based in the Kolkata metropolitan area, responsible for the overall administration, safety, and welfare of hostel residents. The role involves supervising wardens and support staff, overseeing hostel operations, and ensuring adherence to university policies, regulations, and codes of conduct.

The Chief Hostel

Warden will manage room allocations, occupancy records, and maintenance requests, coordinating with facilities and security teams to provide a safe and well-maintained living environment. Daily tasks include addressing student concerns, managing discipline and conflict resolution, organizing orientation and community-building activities,



and ensuring timely communication with university leadership and parents or guardians when required. The role also involves preparing reports, monitoring budgets related to hostel operations, and implementing continuous improvements in hostel services and student support.

Qualifications

- Strong hostel administration and operations management skills, including experience overseeing residential facilities or student housing.
- Proficiency in staff supervision, team leadership, and coordination with security, maintenance, and academic departments.
- Demonstrated skills in student counseling, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures in an educational or residential setting.
- Ability to implement and monitor safety, security, and emergency response protocols for large residential communities.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and university officials.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including handling multiple priorities, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a master’s degree in education, management, social work, or related field is preferred.
- Prior experience as a hostel warden, residential life manager, or similar role in a university or boarding institution is highly beneficial.
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements related to student safety, privacy, and institutional policies.
