George Maijo Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and responsible Body Shop Supervisor to join our Cherthala branch. The candidate will be responsible for supervising day-to-day body shop activities, coordinating technicians, monitoring repair progress, and ensuring quality and timely completion of vehicle repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations and activities on the body shop floor.
- Allocate repair jobs to technicians and monitor work progress.
- Supervise denting, painting, panel replacement, accident repair, and vehicle restoration activities.
- Ensure repair jobs are completed within the committed delivery timelines.
- Inspect repair work to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Provide technical guidance and support to body shop technicians.
- Coordinate with the Body Shop Manager, Service Advisors, insurance team, and other departments.
- Monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) and minimize unnecessary delays.
- Identify additional repair requirements and communicate them to the concerned team.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of body shop tools and equipment.
- Maintain workplace safety, cleanliness, and discipline.
- Ensure technicians follow proper repair procedures and quality standards.
- Monitor technician productivity and work allocation.
- Assist in resolving technical and operational issues.
- Maintain job-related records and support preparation of body shop reports.
- Ensure customer vehicles are handled carefully and professionally.
Requirements
- ITI / Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in automobile body shop operations.
- Experience in supervising body shop technicians and repair activities.
- Practical knowledge of denting, painting, panel replacement, and accident repairs.
- Knowledge of insurance-related vehicle repair processes will be an advantage.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
- Positive team-handling and coordination abilities.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple repair jobs and meet delivery timelines.
- Knowledge of workshop safety and quality procedures.
