Role Description The Assistant Professor of Computer Science role at Amity University Ranchi is a full time, on-site faculty position focused on teaching, research, and academic service.

Responsibilities include delivering undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, conducting tutorials and labs, and guiding students in projects, internships, and dissertations in various areas of computer science. The role involves designing and updating course content, aligning curricula with industry trends and accreditation requirements, and integrating practical and research-based learning activities.

The Assistant

Professor will be expected to pursue scholarly research, publish in reputable journals and conferences, seek research funding, and collaborate with peers on academic initiatives.



Additional duties include mentoring students, participating in departmental and university committees, contributing to outreach and industry partnerships, and supporting a positive, inclusive academic environment.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in core Computer Science concepts, including algorithms, data structures, operating systems, databases, and software engineering.
- Expertise in Curriculum Development, with the ability to design, revise, and align courses with academic standards and industry needs.
- Knowledge and teaching experience in Data Science domains such as machine learning, data analytics, and statistical modeling.
- Specialization or significant experience in Cybersecurity, including network security, information assurance, and secure software practices.
- Proficiency in Programming, with experience in languages such as Python, Java, C/C++, or similar, and in teaching coding best practices.
- Relevant postgraduate degree (minimum Master’s in Computer Science or related field; PhD preferred) from a recognized institution.
- Demonstrated teaching ability, including effective classroom management, use of educational technology, and student mentoring.
- Active or emerging research profile with publications in peer-reviewed journals or conferences in computer science or related areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and commitment to inclusive, student-centered education.
- Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and engage with industry partners for projects, internships, and curriculum enrichment.
