Job Title: Assistant Manager – Logistics

Location: Rudrapur, Uttarakhand (SWG Industries)

Department: Logistics & Supply Chain

Reports To: Plant Head / Factory Manager

Job PurposeTo manage and optimize the end-to-end logistics operations at the Rudrapur plant, including inbound raw material movement, outbound finished goods dispatch, fleet coordination, warehousing, and statutory compliance, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

Key Responsibilities● Plan and coordinate inbound (raw material) and outbound (finished goods) transportation to meet production and dispatch schedules

● Manage relationships with transporters, C&F; agents, and third-party logistics (3PL) vendors; negotiate freight rates and service terms

● Oversee warehouse operations — inventory accuracy, space utilization, FIFO/FEFO adherence, and stock reconciliation

● Ensure timely loading/unloading and minimize vehicle detention and demurrage costs

● Track and report key logistics KPIs: on-time delivery, freight cost per unit, vehicle utilization, damage/loss percentage

● Ensure compliance with e-way bills, GST documentation, weighbridge records, and other statutory requirements

● Coordinate with production, sales, and procurement teams to align logistics planning with business needs

● Manage a team of logistics executives/supervisors and support staff at the plant

● Handle vendor bill verification,



invoice processing, and coordination with accounts/finance

● Drive cost-saving initiatives in transportation and warehousing

● Ensure safety protocols are followed in loading bays, warehouse, and during material handling

● Maintain MIS reports and dashboards for management review

Required Qualifications & Experience● Graduate/Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA preferred)

● 8 - 10 years of experience in logistics/supply chain, preferably in food manufacturing or FMCG

● Sound knowledge of transportation management, warehousing, and statutory compliance (GST, e-way bills)

● Prior experience managing a plant-level logistics team

Skills Required● Robust negotiation and vendor management skills

● Proficiency in MS Excel and logistics/ERP software (SAP/Tally preferred)

● Analytical mindset with attention to cost control and process efficiency

● Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills

● Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple dispatch/inbound schedules
