Job Summary The General Manager – EHS will lead the Environment, Health & Safety function across Aerospace Manufacturing operations at Belagavi. The role is responsible for driving the organization's EHS strategy, ensuring compliance with statutory and aerospace customer requirements, fostering a world-class safety culture, and embedding sustainability initiatives across the manufacturing ecosystem. The incumbent will provide strategic leadership in risk management, environmental compliance, occupational health, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement to achieve zero harm and regulatory excellence.

The role requires close collaboration with business leaders, customers, regulatory authorities, and cross-functional teams to support business growth while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute the EHS strategy aligned with Aerospace business objectives and global best practices.
- Lead the overall EHS governance framework across manufacturing operations, ensuring full compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in business and operational decision-making processes to integrate EHS considerations into all functions.
- Drive compliance with requirements related to CPCB, SPCB, Factories Act, Hazardous Waste Management, MSIHC Rules, Petroleum Rules, and other applicable regulations.
- Lead customer, certification, and regulatory audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.




- Establish and monitor leading and lagging safety indicators and provide periodic reviews to senior leadership.
- Drive enterprise-wide risk assessment programs, including qualitative and quantitative risk assessments and hazard identification studies.
- Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead contractor safety management programs and ensure safe execution of all high-risk activities.
- Ensure effective occupational health management, industrial hygiene monitoring, ergonomics programs, and medical surveillance systems.
- Develop emergency preparedness and response plans, conduct mock drills, and review emergency response effectiveness.
- Liaise with government authorities for statutory approvals, renewals, inspections, and environmental clearances.
- Drive sustainability initiatives including waste reduction, resource conservation, environmental performance improvement, and ESG-related projects.
- Lead EHS digitalization, analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, safety campaigns, behavioral safety programs, and leadership interventions.
- Mentor and develop the EHS team and build organizational capability across all levels.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.




- Full-time Diploma/Degree in Industrial Safety from a recognized institution.
- Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety, Sustainability, or MBA will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 18-25 years of experience in EHS management within Aerospace, Aviation, Engineering, Manufacturing, Automotive, Heavy Engineering, or Process Industries.
- Minimum 8-10 years of leadership experience managing large-scale EHS functions.
