Role Description The Academic Counselor role at HR TEAM is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad.

The Academic

Counselor will guide students on academic pathways, course selections, and skill development aligned with their interests and goals. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, facilitating group orientations, tracking student progress, and maintaining accurate records of interactions and outcomes. The role also involves providing career counseling, sharing information about educational programs, coordinating with faculty and administrative staff, and assisting students with academic challenges and decision-making.

The counselor is expected to use clear communication, empathy,



and structured advising methods to support student well-being and achievement.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong student counseling and academic advising skills, with the ability to support learners across different academic stages.
- Candidates should possess explicit and confident communication skills, including active listening and the ability to explain academic options and processes.
- Candidates should possess career counseling skills, with an understanding of education pathways, job markets, and skill requirements.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in education-related concepts, such as curriculum structures, assessment methods, and learning strategies.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field are preferred.
- Experience working with students in academic institutions, coaching centers, or counseling settings is beneficial.
- Ability to build trust, handle sensitive information confidentially, and work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, comfort with using basic office software and student databases, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
