Roles & Responsibilities

1. Classroom ManagementCreate a safe, happy, welcoming, and child-friendly classroom environment.

- Manage daily classroom activities and routines effectively.
- Ensure children are supervised and cared for at all times.
- Maintain discipline through positive and age-appropriate methods.
- Encourage children to share, cooperate, communicate, and interact with peers.

2. Teaching & LearningPlan and conduct age-appropriate learning activities for nursery children.

- Teach basic concepts such as alphabets, numbers, colours, shapes, fruits, animals, and everyday objects.
- Develop children's early literacy, numeracy, language, and communication skills.
- Use stories, rhymes, songs, games, art, crafts, music, and activities to make learning engaging.
- Introduce children to basic social, emotional, and life skills.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, imagination, and independent thinking.

3. Child DevelopmentObserve and understand each child's individual learning and developmental needs.

- Support children's physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and language development.
- Identify areas where a child may require additional support and communicate observations to the appropriate authority.
- Encourage children to develop confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
- Celebrate children's achievements and encourage their participation.

4. Health, Safety & HygieneEnsure the safety and well-being of every child under supervision.

- Monitor children during classroom activities, playtime, meals,



and outdoor activities.
- Maintain proper hygiene and cleanliness within the classroom.
- Encourage children to follow basic hygiene habits such as handwashing and personal cleanliness.
- Immediately report any injury, illness, unusual behaviour, or safety concern to the management/parents as per school policy.
- Follow the school's child protection and safety procedures.

5. Parent CommunicationMaintain professional and positive communication with parents/guardians.

- Provide regular updates regarding the child's participation, behaviour, learning, and general development.
- Address parent queries politely and escalate concerns when required.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events.

6. Classroom Preparation & DocumentationPrepare teaching materials, worksheets, activity resources, and classroom displays.

- Maintain attendance and other required classroom records.
- Maintain children's portfolios, activity records, and developmental observations as required.
- Keep the classroom learning setting organized and attractive.
- Ensure teaching resources and classroom materials are properly maintained.

7. Activities & EventsOrganize and participate in celebrations, annual days, cultural programs, competitions, field trips, and special school activities.

- Encourage children to participate in co-curricular and creative activities.
- Assist in preparing children for performances, presentations, and classroom events.
