Job Title: Regional Head – International Affairs (Additional Director / Director) Department: International Affairs Location: Current Delhi, India Job Summary: Regional Head – International Affairs, will be responsible for managing and expanding ASSOCHAM’s engagements with the regions they will be overseeing, fostering trade and investment relations, and collaborating with Key stakeholders, like, various Ministries of Government of India, Foreign Missions in India, Indian Missions, leading International Trade and Investment organizations, Multilateral Agencies, amongst others. The role requires a highly enthusiastic individual, with intent for strategic planning, policy advocacy, eye for creating opportunities and enhance ASSOCHAM’s global footprint. Key Responsibilities: 1. International Engagement & Strategic Partnerships • Develop and strengthen relationships with relevant Ministries of the Government of India, Foreign embassies in India, Trade missions, International Chambers, and Multilateral Organizations. • Strengthen and nurture relations with the Indian Missions overseas. • Identify and facilitate bilateral and multilateral engagements that result in financial and strategic outcomes for ASSOCHAM 2. Revenue Generation & Business Development • Develop and implement strategies to generate revenue through international collaborations, business delegations, and trade expos. • Identify and onboard corporate sponsorships, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders for international programs. • Leverage existing international networks to drive business and create monetizable opportunities for ASSOCHAM. Manage sponsorships, partnerships,
and media relations for international events. • Promote ASSOCHAM membership to untapped Indian industry, international businesses and trade organizations resulting in, increased subscriptions and long-term engagement. 3. Management of International Engagements • Programme Conceptualisation, Planning and execution of various international engagements like, business summits, trade delegations, summits, business forums, conferences, networking events and diplomatic engagements. • Secure high-profile speakers, government officials, and industry leaders for events. • Establish partnerships with foreign chambers of commerce, industry associations, and trade organizations to co-host events. • Design structured programs for inbound and outbound trade delegations, ensuring financial sustainability and strategic business matchmaking. • Facilitate business matchmaking and collaboration opportunities between Indian and foreign enterprises. • Provide guidance to Indian companies on global market entry strategies and policy frameworks. 4.Policy Advocacy & Research • Monitor and analyze international trade policy trends, FTAs, and geopolitical developments impacting Indian industries. • Draft policy recommendations, position papers, and white papers on global trade issues.
• Engage with government bodies such as the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and international trade organizations to influence policy decisions. 5. Member Services & Stakeholder Communication • Assist ASSOCHAM members with international trade inquiries, market intelligence, and networking opportunities. • Develop and maintain strong communication with stakeholders through newsletters, reports, and official publications. Required Qualifications & Experience: Education: Master’s degree in international relations, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Experience: 18-22 years of experience in international trade, diplomacy, business development, or related fields. Prior experience in Europe, N. Am & M East regions, UK and Australia is preferred Experience in leading Trade association, Overseas Diplomatic Missions, Government agencies, International Organisations, Business consultancy is preferred. Candidates with Industry Experience in the Europe, N. Am & M East regions and having deep understanding of doing business Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of global trade policies, FTAs, and international business practices. Excellent relationship management and networking skills with global stakeholders. Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with experience in public speaking and policy writing. Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools; knowledge of foreign languages is an advantage
