Mechanical Engineer - BIW (Body‑in‑White)

Experience

5+ years in BIW, mechanical installation, fixtures, and automotive production support

Educational Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

Key Responsibilities

- Support BIW shop floor activities including structural and assembly issue resolution

- Supervise mechanical installation, validation, and layout calibration of industrial fixtures

- Work with jigs, fixtures, clamps, and tooling for BIW operations

- Provide mechanical troubleshooting for production lines and automation equipment

- Support new model introduction (NPI), trials, and fixture corrections

- Coordinate with production, quality, and automation teams





- Ensure compliance with mechanical safety and quality standards

- Prepare and maintain SOP, PFMEA, PFD, ECM documentation

Required Skills

- Robust knowledge of BIW fixtures, alignment, and mechanical installation

- Hands‑on experience in mechanical troubleshooting

- Understanding of robotic welding and automation interfaces

- Ability to read mechanical drawings and layouts

- Good knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic systems (preferred)

- Strong problem‑solving and coordination skills

- Ability to manage shop‑floor activities independently
