Job Profile – Early Years Teacher | IB School (Kindergarten)

- Reports To: Early Years Coordinator / Head of School

Job Purpose
n
To create a nurturing, stimulating and inquiry-rich learning workplace that supports the holistic development of young learners. The Early Years Teacher will facilitate play-based and concept-driven learning in alignment with IB Early Years principles, encouraging curiosity, independence, creativity and social-emotional development.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate, play-based and inquiry-based learning experiences for Kindergarten students.
n
- Develop engaging learning experiences around concepts, themes and real-world connections.
n
- Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, physical and language development.
n
- Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and independent learning.
n
- Observe students closely and use observations to understand their interests, strengths and learning needs.
n
- Document and assess student learning through observations, portfolios, learning stories and other age-appropriate assessment methods.
n
- Encourage students to develop communication, collaboration, creativity, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
n
- Integrate stories, art, music, movement, sensory activities, outdoor learning and hands-on experiences into classroom practice.
n
- Foster the development of IB Learner Profile attributes and age-appropriate approaches to learning.
n
- Differentiate learning experiences to address diverse learning needs and abilities.
n
- Maintain regular and constructive communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and development.
n
- Collaborate with the Early Years Coordinator, teachers, learning support staff and other stakeholders.
n
- Maintain appropriate classroom records, student documentation and assessment evidence.
n
- Participate in school events, assemblies, professional development, curriculum planning and collaborative meetings.
n
- Promote positive behaviour through respectful, child-centred and restorative approaches.
n
- Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding procedures and IB expectations.
n

Desired Qualifications & Experience
n
n
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Psychology or a relevant discipline.
n
- B. Ed./ECCE/Montessori/Nursery Teacher Training or equivalent qualification preferred.
n
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in Kindergarten / Early Years education, preferably in an international or IB school.
n
- Knowledge of inquiry-based, play-based and child-centred pedagogy.
n
- Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- Ability to use digital tools and technology to enhance learning.
n
- A caring, creative, patient and reflective approach towards young learners.
n
n
Others - Full Time Job, 8 Hrs per day, 02 Days extended hour. Time: 7.30am onwards
