Position Overview:
n
n
We are seeking a Battery Modelling Engineer to support our growing R&D; initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain exposure to industrial-scale battery modelling, AI-integrated solutions, and cutting-edge simulation tools.
n
n
Key Responsibilities:
n
n
n
- Develop and implement physics based battery models, including Single Particle Model (SPM) and Doyle-Fuller-Newman (DFN/P2D) models.
n
- Perform parameter optimization and parameter tuning to improve model accuracy and performance.
n
- Extend the physics based model for temperature and aging dependency by modeling phenomena like SEI growth and lithium plating.
n
- Support development of digital twin solutions for battery systems.
n
- Design, implement and optimize the state estimation algorithms such as Extended Kalman Filters (EKF) for SOC, SOH, and RUL prediction.
n
- Work with LFP chemistry and related datasets for modelling and validation.
n
- Utilize MATLAB/Simulink for modelling,
simulation, and validation (preferred).
n
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into BMS and simulation environments.
n
n
n
Qualifications:
n
n
n
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
n
- Understanding of battery electrochemistry, thermal dynamics, and degradation mechanisms.
n
- Knowledge of ECM development, EKF algorithms, and state estimation principles.
n
- Proficiency in Python programming; experience with MATLAB/Simulink is a plus.
n
- Experience in fields related to battery simulation frameworks (e.g., PyBaMM) or multiphysics software such as COMSOL is advantageous.
n
- Familiarity with data analysis techniques and statistical modelling.
n
- Strong problem-solving mindset and analytical thinking.
n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (C1 level or higher).
n
- Demonstrated interest in battery technologies, energy storage systems, or electric mobility solutions.
n
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
n
