Job Description

HONK is looking for a Project Manager who can make design happen.

n

We work on brands, retail spaces, environments, experiences and physical brand expressions. This role sits between design, client, vendors and execution — taking projects from an approved idea through drawings, production, site execution and final handover.

n

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable being on the ground when things get complicated.

What you'll do

n

n
- Own projects from design development through execution and handover
n
- Build and manage project timelines, milestones and execution plans
n
- Coordinate between designers, architects, AutoCAD/3D teams, clients, vendors, contractors and production teams
n
- Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, materials and execution details
n
- Translate design intent into something that can actually be built, fabricated and installed
n
- Manage contractors, fabricators, carpenters, electricians, installers and other site teams
n
- Conduct regular site visits and monitor progress, quality and workmanship
n
- Identify problems early and find practical solutions before they become delays
n
- Track materials, procurement, production and deliveries
n
- Manage project budgets, estimates, quotations, variations and costs
n
- Keep clients informed about progress, decisions, approvals and changes
n
- Coordinate design changes and ensure the latest drawings reach the people executing them
n
- Maintain project documentation, schedules, site reports and progress updates
n
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the intended design quality

What we're looking for

n

n
- 4–8 years of experience in interior design, architecture, retail design, fit-out, spatial design or project execution
n
- Experience managing projects from design → drawings → production → site → handover
n
- Strong understanding of construction, materials, finishes and fabrication
n
- Ability to read and understand architectural/interior drawings
n
- Experience coordinating contractors, vendors and site teams
n
- Strong project planning and timeline management
n
- Valuable understanding of BOQs, estimates, quotations and project costs
n
- Strong communication and client-handling skills
n
- Comfortable working on multiple projects and solving problems under pressure
n
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and project management tools
n
- AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
n

You should be the person who walks into a messy situation and thinks:

"Okay. What needs to happen next?"

You don't have to be the designer.

n

But you need to understand design well enough to protect the idea while making sure it gets built properly.
