Company Description

Scout is an early-stage platform that helps students find and apply to the right universities abroad, and helps universities find the right students. We're starting with students in Asia applying to universities in the UK, Canada, the UAE, Australia, Europe and other countries. We're a small founding team, so you'll work directly with the founder and see your work go live quickly.

The role

Our matching engine tells students which programmes they're eligible for. That only works if the data behind it - entry requirements, English scores, fees, deadlines - is right. We collect this data from university websites; you'll be the person who makes sure it's accurate, fixes what's wrong and flags what's changed.

What you'll do

- Review programme data collected against university websites and fix errors
- Work through the review queue: low-confidence values, changed fees or deadlines, and missing fields
- Research how UK, Canadian and Australian universities treat qualifications from India, the UAE and other countries in Asia (A-levels, IB, CBSE, American diploma, UAE Ministry certificate)
- Build and maintain a hand-checked 'gold set' of programmes we use to measure accuracy




- Record the source page and date for every value you check
- Write explicit notes when you find patterns

What you'll learn

- How international admissions work across three major study destinations
- How data pipelines are built and quality-controlled in practice
- Data standards: how to turn messy web pages into clean, structured data

What we're looking for

- Very high attention to detail
- Comfortable with spreadsheets (filters, lookups, data validation)
- Professional written communication in English
- Able to work independently and keep a steady pace on detailed work
- No prior work experience required

Details

- Location: Remote; primary location India
- Hours: full-time or part-time (at least 20 hours a week)
- Duration: 3–6 months, with the possibility of extending or converting to a longer role
- Pay: paid internship with a monthly stipend of INR 10,000
- Start: as soon as possible
