- We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Unix Patch Engineer with strong expertise in BigFix implementation and Unix patching to manage enterprise patching, compliance, and vulnerability remediation activities across RHEL and AIX environments.
- The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Client BigFix, delivering operating system patching during planned maintenance windows, and ensuring high levels of system availability, security, and compliance.
- This position requires support during weekend and non-business hour maintenance activities.
- Outside of patching windows, the role operates during standard business hours.

Essential Job Functions:

- Manage end-to-end Unix operating system patching activities using BigFix implementation practices and enterprise patch management processes.
- Perform Unix patching across RHEL and AIX server environments in accordance with organizational patching and remediation requirements.
- Configure, administer, and maintain Client BigFix components, including Fixlets, baselines, actions, content, and reporting.
- Integrate Unix endpoints into the BigFix infrastructure and ensure accurate agent health, reporting, and compliance status.
- Monitor patch deployments, troubleshoot failures,



and implement corrective actions to improve patch compliance.
- Coordinate patching activities with infrastructure, operations, application, and security teams to minimize business impact.
- Perform root cause analysis for patch deployment issues and implement preventive improvements.
- Generate patching, compliance, and vulnerability reports for operational and management stakeholders.
- Maintain patching documentation, standard operating procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Support automation initiatives that improve patch deployment efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Participate in planned maintenance windows, including weekend and after-hours patching activities.

Qualifications:

Required Skills

- Proficient - BigFix implementation.
- Proficient - Unix patching.

Knowledge
- RHEL / AIX server.

Experience
- Strong hands-on experience administering Client BigFix in Unix/Linux environments.
- Proven experience performing patching activities across enterprise Unix server environments.
- Experience troubleshooting patch deployment issues and driving remediation activities.
- Understanding of Linux server infrastructure, operating systems, filesystems, networking, and system administration.
