Role & responsibilities
Manage and support Google Cloud databases including Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL), Spanner, Bigtable, Memorystore, Redis, and related services.
Perform database installation, configuration, administration, performance tuning, and optimization.
Implement and maintain database replication, schema design, query optimization, backup, and recovery processes.
Monitor database health, security, availability, and ensure compliance with operational standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve database, infrastructure, and network-related issues through root cause analysis.
Provision, configure, and manage cloud resources including servers, storage, and networking components.
Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, incidents, and troubleshooting activities.
Provide technical support to customers and internal teams while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Own customer incidents and technical cases end-to-end, ensuring timely resolution within defined SLAs.
Participate in 24x7 rotational shift operations and support critical production environments.
Ensure secure, consistent, and scalable cloud infrastructure configurations across the environment.
Communicate technical information effectively to customers,



stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred candidate profile
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL), Spanner, Bigtable, Memorystore, Redis, and Datastream.
Robust understanding of database installation, configuration, performance tuning, query optimization, replication, and schema design.
Experience in managing production settings, troubleshooting incidents, and performing root cause analysis.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, networking concepts, server administration, and security best practices.
Familiarity with backup & recovery, high availability, monitoring, and operational support processes.
Ability to work in 24x7 rotational shifts and manage customer-facing technical support cases.
Robust documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities with a customer-centric mindset.
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field.
GCP ACE Certification, database certifications, or cloud certifications are an added advantage.
Proficiency in written and spoken English (CEFR B2 or equivalent preferred).
