ROLE SUMMARY

We are looking for an IT Security / Endpoint Management freelancer with hands-on MDM/UEM experience to take ownership of our ScaleFusion deployment and close outstanding endpoint security gaps. This is active remediation work, not exploratory work the engineer will troubleshoot real device-level issues (BitLocker PIN enforcement, USB policy assignment, antivirus verification) and coordinate directly with the MDM vendor's support team to close tickets.

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

UEM/MDM platform experience Must have

Hands-on configuration and troubleshooting on a Unified Endpoint Management platform (ScaleFusion, Microsoft Intune, Hexnode, or equivalent) — device enrollment, device groups vs. device profiles, and policy precedence rules.

Windows security administration Must have

BitLocker configuration and troubleshooting (with and without TPM, encryption methods, PIN enforcement), Group Policy / local security policy, and Windows domain or Entra ID join troubleshooting (dsregcmd, manage-bde).





Endpoint security fundamentals Must have

Verifying antivirus/EDR deployment, configuring USB device control policies, blocking AI tools and file-sharing sites at the endpoint, and hardening local admin rights across a device fleet.

Vendor coordination & reporting Must have

Comfortable working directly with a SaaS vendor's support team — reproducing issues with device-level evidence, following tickets through to resolution, and keeping a clean, accurate compliance tracker.

GOOD TO HAVE

Microsoft Intune / Entra ID Valuable to have

Prior Intune or Entra ID hands-on experience for domain/Entra-joined Windows fleets.

PowerShell scripting Positive to have

Ability to write scripts that verify compliance status directly on each device (BitLocker, AV, local admin group), rather than relying solely on the MDM console.

Prior audit remediation experience Positive to have

Has previously closed out a client-driven security or compliance audit under a hard deadline.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL

2–5 years in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or endpoint security, with hands-on production experience on at least one UEM/MDM platform.
